# About me

When I began my deviantart account in 2004, I was a 15 year old with a strange obsession with cameras and photography. I began experimenting with photoshop after receiving a free copy from a friend, and by age 18 I was on my fourth camera and second external harddrive from all the photos I'd taken.

Six years later I graduated college in May 2010 with a degree in Marketing and Literary and Cultural Studies. Throughout my four years at Bryant University, I found a strong passion in graphic design and the entire creative process revolving around advertising. I am currently working on building my portfolio to one day help me land my dream job of designing advertisements and just having a lot of fun!

Oh, and about my username, "fairytaleliar". When I was younger I was obsessed with fairy tales, and the ideas and images they portrayed, in particular the "lies" that rested within their happily ever afters. This obsession later became the topic of my 60+ page senior thesis on fairy tales and their effect on children. (The entire manuscript will be posted on bryanthonors.com/index.htm within the next few months if anyone is interested in reading it.) When I began to consider making a professional style portfolio, I considered changing my name, but decided to stick with "fairytaleliar" because it's a bit more fun than just "KristenAucoin" or something along those lines.
