# About me

I am Heather Reed. I shoot and flash people quite frequently. It's what I've done ever since I first picked up a camera when I was around 5 years old. That was 16 years ago. 10 years of which I became a sports junky and Rocket Power wannabe(nickelodeon tv show from the early 2000's) All I had were disposable camera's and eventually a huge 1980's video camera to lug around on my shoulder.
My first "film" I "produced" I was 11 years old. I set up a bike race amongst all the kids in the neighborhood and filmed it. It was horrid. lol.
When I was around 16 I started taking photography more seriously. I dabbled with crappy compact camera's, photoshop and film slr's. When I attended the wayne county schools career center, I got my hands on a Nikon D70. My lab instructor would send me out on photo adventures in the hallways of the school to better learn the camera. That's when my passion really started. 4 years down the road I bought a Canon EOS Rebel XSI. I liked Canon over Nikon. Mainly because it's better for artistic photography. Nikon is better for photojournalism and sports. That's my opinion though. Now as for the XSI, I outgrew it's lack of features fast. Now I shoot with a Canon EOS 7D.

I am constantly growing, learning and expanding myself as an artist. I hope you enjoy my gallery and am impressed with anyone who actually took the time to read this. Have a nice day! Don't be shy either!

Is it titled Dan Parasite?

It's very emotive. A lot of illustrations lack that lately.

A wee bit chilly and fighting off a flu bug. Needless to say, I've been stuck in my room all day bored to wits. lol

That's no good! I was sick last week :\ And Ohio's temperature has been a bit bipolar, what with the higher temperatures last weekend, then this week it's freeeeeezing.

Yes, it has been very temperamental. Being in wooster, I basically live on the snow belt and area that gets the extremes of all the seasons. Plus, everyone I work with came to work the past month sicker than sick. So my illness was doomed to happen.

Speaking of Wooster, about how big is the town? I'm faaaiirrrly sure I'll be going to college there in like..two years...
I'm in Tiffin o:

ffmedia In reply to xRhyme [2010-10-15 03:22:08 +0000 UTC]

It's a developing area, so it's hard to tell how large it will be in two years. Right now it's about as big as one of columbus's suburbs. Like Delaware. The college of wooster, i frequent that area quite a bit, seems to be growing as well. It's VERY diverse. Now outside of campus...it gets a bit interesting. My gf and I found we rarely get glared at any more for holding hands, but there are still quite a bit of bible thumpers here. You'll also get your occasional redneck with a big truck thinking it's funny to yell obscenities at you out of his truck window.
Oh and just two weeks I'm fairly sure I saw a prostitute for the first time in Wooster around 5:40am on the way to work.
The most interesting places in Wooster to visit would have to be the downtown shops. Like the antique stores(there's 3), 150 West(bar & grill), Muddy Waters Bar & Grill, and the mini art shops.
Tiffin, eh? I've never been there.

I'm definately going to have to come for a visit..
There isn't really a lot to do here in Tiffin, I don't suggest ever visiting it..
I plan on doing gender studies when I'm older, and it was between BGSU or Wooster and Wooster has something like women&Gender studies as a major, so that's where I intend to go (:

ffmedia In reply to xRhyme [2010-10-15 20:45:43 +0000 UTC]

The Women and Gender studies at c.o.w. is brilliant. Several of the members of the Allies and Queers group at c.o.w. are in that major. From what they've told me, it is top ranked. The entire college is for that matter. I just recently learned while running around campus with two friends that c.o.w. also has photography. So that is something I am highly considering for next fall.
Well if you come down for a visit, shoot me an email, maybe I could show you around Wooster. My girlfriend and I welcome new friends

I've been wanting to get into Gender studies for *years* but I thought I'd have to go out of state, at least, then my friend brought me a pamphlet about the college and I was hooked..
I'd love to come down for a visit and I looooove meeting new people :]

Yes, I was quite surprised to learn that c.o.w. has gender studies. I'm thinking about sitting in for a class sometime. It could quite possibly be what I am going to minor in. Another great thing about c.o.w is if you have an appreciation for scottish windpipes, they have an amazing windpipe band. I hear them from my house when they're playing outside.

I love windpipes! o_o Agghh, this next year and a half needs to go faster! I'm so sick of being in high school in this tiny little town...I need a change of scenery :\

Yeah :\ It's more like..all my friends are being really pissy and distant lately. I dunno..
But yeah! What're you up to?

ffmedia In reply to xRhyme [2010-10-15 23:20:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's how high school is. People are constantly changing. It's not much different with college either.
I'm being sickly, getting ready to take nyquill for the night. Also, of course on flickr.com
How about yourself?

Fun fun. I was that way when I was in high school. I couldn't wait to go out and adventure. I met some great people along the way and learned a great deal. I don't even attend c.o.w. but I attend the Allies & Queers meetings when I can. They are great people.

I was excited when I heard about Allies&Queers. My high school has a GSA, but the number of kids vary from week to week..

ffmedia In reply to xRhyme [2010-10-18 23:22:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure. The gsa at my old high school was like that. Either that or a bunch of kids would show up and cause drama because they were the typical angsty drama lovers. I was more on the political side of things so it was a bit frustrating to me when kids would come in and not want to do anything active with the group.

xRhyme In reply to ffmedia [2010-10-19 00:58:41 +0000 UTC]

That's the same way it is at my school! We get these freshmen, and they'll be loud and obnoxious and we don't get anything done. I'm the person who wants to get active, and out there, and do /something/. So at the next meeting I'm having a discussion on how it's a serious group and if you aren't going to be serious, don't bother coming back.

ffmedia In reply to xRhyme [2010-10-30 14:10:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's annoying. But believe me, once you go to college it will be easier to find people who want to be active in the glbt community.
