However, it isn't impossible. There are people who where very hard core christians studying to become ministers missionaries and priests and then out of the blue realized "Hey! This is bullshit!"
Well it isn't always that quickly. It's like a creeping coldness it is. Little things start piling up, questions upon questions. And every ones' deconversion story is different.
Sometimes it is at the loss of a loved one, sometimes that person just never gave god a though and went past the age of indoctrination, sometimes they just got sick of the hypocrisy, sometimes they actually read their bibles and learned what it said and sometimes that god thing just didn't jive with them.
There isn't any Nirvana solution here. It is an evolution of behavior of sorts. And for some it looks like a dark and scary road.
