I faved the contest cuz I might enter it. There's only about a month before the deadline, and I may not have time to write and illustrate a 7-page comic. Ill keep it I'm mind though. I have a short introduction story that may work.

Thank your for offering to answer questions. I joined a group, but I don't know what I need to do. What does it mean to be active in a group? Does that just mean submitting? a whole lot of deviations came up in my notifications they had a 'x' button in the corner and an arrow pointed down. ?????

Glad to hear it.
Well, to be active in a group, posting is part of it, but not absolutely necessary.
Those deviations in you notifications are either from artist you "watch" or from
the group you are a part of. You will know by the title in the top left corner above the row.
As for the the 'x' and the 'v' buttons, the 'x' removes the deviations you don't want to see
anymore (or after you finished commenting or favorite-ing) and the 'v' is other options,
like "unwatch this artist" or "adjust your watch settings for this artist"

Oh, and a little tip, there is a button at the bottom of the comment box called "Add Media"
This allows you to add GIFs to your comments and brightens DA's comment section.

An artist collaboration, or collab, is when two or more artists come together to create a single art piece. Sometimes one artist works on one aspect of th picture, like lines and the other finishes it, with color and shadeing

A collection is a sort of gallery created by fellow artists under a certain theme. It is also known as your favorites. You can create more collections and rename them to be whatever you want. (some restrictions apply) More popular artist use them to inform their watchers of art of tutorials that they may find interesting.

A lot of artist that do collabs know the other artist in real life, but a lot of
them don't. Usually, an artist will have on their profile page that they are/aren't
available for collabs, as well as Art Trade, Requests, and Commissions, so it's
not necessarily asking random artists. No prob!

Art Trades are when artists decide what the other will draw and they draw the pictures as they see fit.
A Request is like a suggestion, but it's done in a sort of gifting fashion.
It's not much, but I hope this helps.

Did you have any media in mind? My latest deviations are done in digital oil paint and its slowly becoming my favorite. On the other hand, I could do it completely traditionally with markers or colored pencils.
