I recently read your posts on ANSU and I'd like to say that your arguements are great and blunt . Good show.

i read over your discussion with the members of the community and it was coherent and logical. these are very young, very easily swayed kids. they feel they must be rebellious in some way in order to feel more complete, to feel that they are doing what everyone else is doing. it's a cruel twist of irony.
i have never, never been more startled by anything more on this website until i found this community. it is completely disgusting and almost made me throw up. you notice that the mods are not even older than 17? they don't know any better, and hopefully someone in college or whatever future place they go to will do something to change the situation, to turn them in a better direction. otherwise, i am frankly embarassed for these people. and still in shock.

i know what you mean. Ive actually began reading into the source material from which they are getting their opinions from and honestly, its scary. I know that with age and life experience they will probably grow out of it or see the flaws within their current mindset, but the damage they will cause until then is what worries me.
In any case its good to see that there are others that are not simply apathetic to these guys.

Welcome to the deviantART mad-house. I figured I'd zip over here after replying to your comment and see who I was talkin' at. I see we share a common interest: Grave of the Fireflies. That film is a thing of beauty. I've probably seen it half-a-dozen times now.

i totally agree. Watching that movie really made me think about who the real casualties of war are. That isnt to say that in all military conflicts that innocent children are directly involved, but even one it too much. I think a lot of people would be able to learn a good lesson by watching that movie, if they could get over the fact that it is a serious animated feature length movie first.

Definitely, people could learn a lot from it if they gave it a chance. I'm not bothered by the fact that it was animated since I've enjoyed anime for about 25 years. (I'm by no means a fanboy and I don't watch anime voraciously, only now-and-then.) Frankly I don't think it could have been as powerful if done as a live-action film.

I agree with you, but I dont think that most Americans would be able to appreciate it because of their association of cartoons with childrens things. 25 years though, wow thats old school

Yeah, it's kind of an unfair generalization for them to assume that because it's animated, it's automatically in the same class as Disney or Saturday morning kiddie cartoons. Of course not everyone thinks this way.
Yeah, my first anime was Battle of the Planets (originally 'Gatchaman' in Japan), back in the late 70's. It was pretty cool to me as a single-digit-age type kid, hehe, but I have a feeling that if I watched it again today it certainly wouldn't stand up to the more modern stuff. It's available on DVD now (at Amazon for example) but I haven't felt the urge to refresh my memory of it.

To be honest with you, I'm having trouble believing that you have really moved beyond where you were when you were in your previous phase. I would tend to think that a person who had truly moved beyond their shota+ fascination would be comfortable with others knowing it and being able to admit it without shame, as it may not be a part of their life that they are proud of but still one theyve moved beyond.
To thank me for intervening is the wrong thing to do. My meddling is very possibly the reason you have just moved horozontaly instead of foreward. Of course when i see things like your lovely "happy black history month" drawing it makes me regret my intervention even more.

In response to your last message: I agree, discussing our personal matters on ANSU wasn't the place to do it, so I'm replying here. Yes, I read your comment and I respect your opinion. For the mean while, anyway, I feel the way I do. People change, I suppose, and its alright to go from one belief to the next. I suppose that's how a person learns, right? Please don't just use me as 'entertainment' or 'amusement'. I don't appreciate your "continued interest in my behavior." Just those words make it sound as though you're sitting back tracking my day to day life and every new thing I find interesting.. like when they put those little tracking devices on ducks and send them out in the pond again. I'm not your duck, Jeremiah. If you want to engage in this type of behavior, please find someone else. If both of us have no desire to maintain a friendship, or even a steady acquaintanceship, why bother? I was ready to move on in my life a year ago, and you're holding me back.
I realize that the things that used to interest me a year or so ago were wrong, but I came to that realization after a lot of internal conflict and rational thought. It wasn't because you " lanted your seed of thought" although I do thank you for intervening when you did. Whether or not my current system of beliefs is "absolutely 100% right", that I'm not sure of. It works, in my mind, but I'm young-- its very possible that I'll feel differently in a few years.
I propose we put the past behind us and move on. What do you think?
