Hey man. Yeah, not many people use the E-500. A lot of people seem to like the Canon Rebel Xt and the Nikon D70/D50. That's just because those brands are more popular, in my opinion. The E-500 is every bit as good as the Rebel and in alot of ways even better than the D70. Take a look through my gallery, and if you don't like what you see, don't buy the E-500 camera. But, at the same time, I've only had it for a little over a month, and I'm just a kid, lol. Anyways, when it came down to it, I had to choose between two winners. Both the Canon 350D and the E-500 are amazing cameras. ONe thing that made me want the E-500 more is the two lense kit deal that they have. A 14-45 lense and a 40-150 lense. Olympus makes amazing lenses. They're quality is just amazing, so that was one of the reasons why i bought it. Anyways, I've had this camera for a while, and I am still amazingly happy with it. The E-500 just feels right in my hands. I studied a lot before I bought this camera and I looked at a lot of different options. In the end, I found this was the best deal. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the camera. It really is a great buy. Olympus rocks.

sorry for the late reply. I've felt both the Rebel XT and the E-500 and I'd have to say I totally agree with you. It feels much more sturdy, less like plastic, and the focus adjustment is much smoother and nicer feeling. Plus, the lense are WAY better, and the dual lens kit is very nice. I'm not sure when I'll get the E-500 though, since I'm quite satisfied with film. You gotta have digital sometimes though, since getting film developed is such a pain.
