Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire deviant life, that there's something wrong with the story. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.
You take the blue pill, the story ends. Your browser closes and you believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland. And, I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
I offer only the truth, nothing more.
Take: The Red Pill
Take: The Blue Pill
spyed, nobody has ever done this before.
I know. That's why it's going to work.

Hey thanks for the comment, and that lens.. It was a Vivitar Series 1 - 19-35mm wide angle, Pentax mount.. good lens, and not too expensive either..

Actually, if you look at the aperture and the image itself closely, you can see that the depth of field is actually pretty shallow...I just got focus on the most important part of the photo.
Thanks for the comment.

hey josh, about that tree in my lugano banco del gottardo [link] shot...it is indeed blurry, because i was foolish enough to shoot that pic handheld in the middle of the night. hence, i had to stick with F1.4, greatly reducing the depth of field.

I've been meaning to try out some Portra NC and UC. I had hoped the VC would capture the colors in the kilts and such well, but the NC might have rendered the people better. Thanks for the comments.

Sorry Josh, I don't think I'd be able to make the trip down to Florida, the warm weather and humidity will get to me. Feel free to pick up my book "The Negative" which has information about the Zone system. I can probably provide a brief explanation online sometime, time permitting of course.

Thanks for the comment on Il Buona Il Bruto Il Cattivo.
Re: the focus on the Imperial biker, I had actually intended him to be like that. I figured, rather than try (and fail) at focusing them all, I would just focus on the foremost two.
I believe, I was stopped down to f22, which is as tight as the lens would go, so I wouldn't have been able to increase the DoF. I could have, as you said, pulled back some, but I doubt I could have done so enough to help with the DoF and still not totally change the composition of the shot.
Anyway, thanks for the comment. I really appreciate the constructive criticism. I'm going to try some new reversal-ring shot, this time on my FG so I won't screw up the exposure. I took quite a few and unfortunately that was one of only two, or so, that turned out.

The lighting is natural, on quite a grey day. The archway faces outside, if that helps at all. I'm intruiged by your comment, I think I can see what you mean at top left. Kind of a bit too full-on. cheers for the constructive comment.

Heheh, no, the sky was fine on that one... it's dark thanks to the polarizer... it's the shots with dark foreground and really bright background (sky mostly) that I'm having trouble with... wouldn't be so bad on the shots I could fill in with a flash, but most scenery you can't do it that way...
Thanks for the comment!

thanks for the comment, josh.
the blurriness, i think, is the result of a not-so-wonderful scan.
the actual image is noticeably clearer.
but anyway, thank you.

yeah, friggin grain on my salford quays footbridge 4 [link] and all the other nighttime shots, for that matter. serves me right for using a 400 ASA film when i should have gone for a 100 or even a 50 ASA with longer aperture... next time, results should be a lot clearer (although i am concerned about reciprocity effect of the film...i did bracketed shot with straight AE, -1 and +1 correction, and the +1 has a definite variation in colour to the normal and the -1).

yup, salford quays footbridge 1 [link] is one of the shots i mentioned the other night...and as the little number (and the newly created devpack for it) suggests, i've got lots more to come
needed a break from my lovely b/w submissions for a while...was itching to put the colour ones up.
