your gallery has some good work in there. I was really drawn to your various mixed media pieces. they were intense, but gentle. they had a good mix of feeling. nice job.

goodkind = BAD reason to do philosophy.
lol

severance26 In reply to jabberwok [2005-08-02 23:39:20 +0000 UTC]
you think so? why do you say that? i know most people think he's a not a quality author... but his background philosophy on truth and love (in my opinion) has realy real metaphorical value for the real world... in the end of the fourth book he has a description (when richard heals kahlan)... if you read that... i find it very heideggerian... its the most intense metaphyisical desciption of transformation thats direct and not indirect that i know of... < π: 0 β©: 1

severance26 In reply to jabberwok [2005-08-04 19:45:13 +0000 UTC]
har har. do so having read the first 41 (or more) times... yeah i just pick stuff out and quote it heh. if you want... well its on page 781 if you have the softcover, right after a break (so there's a likkle SoT right where it starts). if you dont, well its near the far end of the book. rapture in the sliph was torture compared to this... erm i dont know where that page is, i never bothered to memorize it cause i usually just remember, but i sort of stick that description in my head when i read that line.
are you familiar with martin heidegger? few people are. maybe you have heard of the Landmark Forum. they base some of their stuff off of his work about Language is the House of Being. if you havent heard of the landmark forum... well i would only say, its worth the money to go, its better than college for sure haha. only takes three days and youll learn more than 4 years of college i guaran-fucking-tee it.

jabberwok In reply to severance26 [2005-09-05 14:40:08 +0000 UTC]
i may or may not have done the landmark forum... and... the wisdom course...
*Ahem*
aaaaannnnd i did it with adults. (still young at 20, but i was 18/19)
so it was. wise words landmark has... if you follow them, rather than alot of landmark forum folks who recite the words and claim enlightenment, but are just as... mmm static as a normal person but with the additional ego and vocab
i dont have a grudge againced them, my only issues come when i have my own colection of words for 'landmark concepts'
ohhhh dear.. i've gone and ranted.
