Yeah I guess I am not dead... Yet.
How about you? It's been a while since the last time you submitted something here. I guess you concentrate more into writing this last couple of months. Am I right? By the way it's so nice finally get in touch with you again

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. I've been writing, drawing, designing characters, hashing out details.... and on top of all that it was summer here and so I was working 40+ a week. Add kids and husband and RL friends, and voila.... barely any time for dA.

Yeah, it's good to be back. I've missed dA and all the people here. It actually inspires me to greater heights as an artist.

honestly? I don't know. I just, I don't know...
I think I am a big spoiled kid. I mean, it's seems like no matter where I work I never truly enjoyed it (even though this latest one is the worst)
I want to quit this job, but if I do that, is it a guarantee that I will enjoy the new one? not to mention it's not easy to find a job these days...
and now this company also already found a new designer as my partner. deep down I'm scared... are they gonna make this new designer as my replacement? because as I already mentioned before, I got into an argument with my colleague in the creative team. I knew from another point of view, I should be grateful with this job because the salary is high (compare to my previous jobs) and I get Saturday & Sunday off. but WHY I never truly comfortable with this situation?
this situation makes me so... sad and confused. my acne grow immensely, I lost a lot of hair, I even got insomnia frequently.
I chat with my friends and parents about this. one friend told me to quit this job as soon as possible, but the other told me that I better stick around to improve myself (I can't just run from problems). and my parents is the oddest. they want me to do an... exorcism. because they feel like my situation (this depression thing) is because I have attachment with bad spirits/ demons (yeah... you can say that, my parents is Christian fanaticism)
please don't hate me because I burden you with my not-so-important condition, Chris... thank you so much for checking up on me

I could never hate you for sharing your worries.
Well, some think that bad spirits/demons are just a way to "personify" bad character traits. So don't take your parents' twist on this too hard. They only want to help, even if their thinking is a bit old fashioned. It's not totally off the mark though. You're unwillingness to adapt or at very least make the best of this situation until something else comes along is only hurting YOU. It's self destructive. Did you know that the word "sin" was an archers term that meant "to miss the mark"? Now it means to live in suffering and to cause suffering. So, when you fail to live as Christ (miss the mark), we cause suffering for ourselves and others.
So how do you "hit the mark" in this situation? Be grateful. Try to forgive your coworkers for their slights and failings; they're only human. Do your best. Work hard. Continue to "confess" your frustrations to your family and friends, it's healthy to vent.
Both your friends are right. There is no harm in continuing to look for a different job that feels more comfortable. But you should give this current job 100% while you're there. Keep an open mind, do your best. You'll either grow into this or find something new.
But no, I don't think that quitting without another job lined up is the answer, for all the reasons that you yourself listed. There is no guarantee that you'll like the next job. And Jobs are hard to find now. When you find one that you're good at and pays well hold onto it. Be grateful. It's just a day job. You can always do what you love on during evenings and weekends.

hi Chris... thank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful comment, it's really means a lot to me.
right now, I'm just trying to live my life day by day... you know what I mean?
in the office I also try to be nice to everyone (including the coworker that I have problem in the past) and not to stepping into anyone's shoes too much. but maybe because we came from different background and habit, I never really "blend-in" with anyone in this office, especially in the creative team (because they all smoking and really familiar with nightlife, meanwhile I am not. until now I also still worried about my health because this office allowing their employees to smoke freely in air-conditioning room)
I never really enjoy this life, even I often feel uncomfortable with my own skin (moreover with all this problems) but maybe the problem is just that I am not grateful enough with my life right now. but thanks GOD, at least every time I draw it seems like I worth something and I can forget all my problems & worries (even though it's only temporary & my drawing is not super or something like that) to be honest drawing is one of very few things that genuinely can makes me truly happy these days.
and how about you? is everything OK with your life right now? it seems that you and I don't hang out much like we used to in deviantART anymore

You are not alone.
I've felt that I don't fit in certain situations because I do not partake in certain social activities. Just have to make the best of it for the sake of the paycheck. I know what it is to feel freedom in art. Your last piece that you just posted... it just. Wow. I can tell that you poured everything into it. I can FEEL it. I wish I could say more about it, but as a judge I really shouldn't so I'm gonna stop now.
But you are not alone. I lose myself in my art and writing too. I'd do nothing else if I could. It makes me feel free and at peace. There's something that I'm good at and there's just something so awesome about coaxing something off of a blank piece of paper. Don't sell yourself short. Your art is your own and so you should be proud of it.

thank you so much. It's always feel so good when someone noticed your hard work.
yes, I guess you can say like that. I just feel so... lost recently. I don't really have motivations in any single aspects of my life, it seems like I rarely feel genuinely happy these days. but drawing (particularly this last piece) makes me feel so... alive. even though initially I never intended to make something so detailed like that, remembering how my schedule and life right now.
but enough about me. how are you? it's been a while since the last time I saw an artwork from you... have you been busy lately?

I've just been really busy. Between the kids and dogs and trying to find time to exercise and let off steam... plus there is the writing too. I just haven't had time for visual art. But life is good. Busy but good. I really can't complain.

yeah. I guess you can enjoy your busy life if you enjoy the things that makes you busy... right? like in your case. can you tell me more about your kids? and your life in general? if you don't mind, of course...
ooh so you are busy writing? which story do you working right now? if you don't mind to tell me any further...
opposite from you, instead of writing right now I am more interested in drawing, LOL even though the truth is I should better concentrate working on Sebastian/ Harper's story, instead just drawing them constantly

I have a husband of three years, Mike, an 8 year old ballerina, Kayli, and a 2 year old terror, Isabelle. They certainly keep me hopping.
Yup, sure am. It's just fanfiction, but it's flexing my writer's muscles so it's been very helpful to my skills. Be warned. It's all in English. You can find it at www.fanfiction.net/s/10206118/… if you're interested.
Well, you just gotta go where your muse takes you. Not really much else to it. So if you feel the urge to draw, strike while the iron is hot and draw!

I already read chapter 1 and I surely gonna read it when I have time. I am not really good in English so I can't comment much on grammatical area and choice of words, but in my limited knowledge of English all I can say it is really good.
oh, so your first daughter is a ballerina? so sweet! I can imagine how happy your family are... and I am sure even though your youngest daughter seems to always keep you busy, you enjoy every moment you spend with her
as for me, I think for now I'm gonna take a little break from art for a while.

Yeah, they can be a challenge, but I wouldn't trade it for anything, that's for certain.

well, I think I will be forever bias because my heart already belong to Cumberbatch he is just... OMG, I can't even find words that suited him and his adorableness. GOD, please answer my prayer to make my future husband like this
even though I have to admit in this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFiMaq… (they are just silly, aren't they?) Tom is clearly the winner
and I also already watched the video when Tom dressed as Loki and made great appearance at Hall H, and I agree with you, his charisma is just... WOW

Oh... oh my... grown men aren't supposed to move like that! They're ruining my life! And yes, I will totally willing to declare Tom the winner. It's all in the snake hips. And I know, right? "SAY! MY! NAME!!!!!!"

I think I am most impressed when he was successfully "calm" the audiences of the entire hall just by simple "Ssssh"
the way he did it is just so cool, so scary, and... sexy, I guess?
there's must be something "wrong" about British... why they keep producing the sexiest men I've ever knew? I think I must move to that country soon

CMBaggs In reply to justwant2behappy [2014-02-25 21:23:52 +0000 UTC]
Part of it is that Tom has so much experience with stage acting. He knows how to work a room, and so for him it was easy to go out there and just own the character without the benefit of several takes and a director. That and he oozes charisma.
Oh, I don't know about that. I'm more than happy with my husband, but there is certainly nothing wrong than looking at photos.
