Haha, not sure, it varies. Ups and downs. Hope you are doing well, do you use any instant messaging apps? I feel like that would be easier way to catch up and chatter than dA.

Thanks for watching <3
I never actually checked out your profile, and only the other day did I realise that your art was yours. It's always really stood out to me, the way you draw vays is quite simple, but so elegant, and they always have the best expressions!

So what have you been up to all this time? Getting on with uni' stuff and all? I seem to recall you were into art studies

I graduated a year ago, now I have a bachelor's degree in media engineering + a job in my field (web development in plain terms haha). You were in uni too, how did that go?

oh nice! I hope you like your job
Yeah, I spent my final internship/placement in the UK as I wanted to to and graduated for my Master's Degree in Wildlife Conservation. I've been living in the UK for over two years now but I still can't get a job in ecology, everything is really complicated and I'm always told to volunteer more( +2years of full time volunteering already, I'm really fed up with it). Other than the lack of job, I'm enjoying life there and all

I do! It's pretty much exactly what I wanted to do
Congrats on graduating and moving to UK! And wow that sucks, over two years of volunteering should be more than enough > I hope you'll get a job soon!

Yeah, it's kinda my mistake for staying two years with one charity only instead of moving and learning different things because I loved the place and the people so much and didn't want to leave them behind. The problem with the charity I was with is they didn't pay for "certificates" with using machines so no one wants to employ me despite knowing how to do stuff( legaly to get paid I need these certificates). Now I'm with another charity where both my bf and me should get some of these certificates for free, which hopefully will help us move foreward. My second mistake is not having done my last internship with an ecology consultancy but with trust where I didn't learn what I wanted/should have regarding species and wildlife surveys/identification/conservation. I'm kind of sitting between two chairs at the moment, employers would give me job interviews and say I've got good experience but not enough in the end because I'm too "general" in my knowledge instead of having focused on one topic or species Order.
Now I'm trying to get into a bat job as I volunteered with a professional before and got paid for 3 weeks of bat survey and counting, but I need a bat licence which is expensive and require traveling and volunteering with a professional, and they won't pay for travel expense...

Ahh ok I suppose that explains it but it still sucks though :/ Luckily you're able to get the certificates now (at least some of them, I hope the bat one works out for you too!) but that's still a difficult situation.

Wolf250 In reply to kbrg [2017-06-13 17:18:16 +0000 UTC]
yeah...
I just had a good news 2 minutes ago though, I'm going to get paid for a part time job as a bat field surveyor which is cool and really what I need
The downside of it is it's more likely going to be only 3-4 times a month, but it's more experience and great if I want to work for that bat licence

whoa, that's fantastic! I'm so happy for you, you really deserve the chance (and as you said, 3-4 times a month is still more experience).
