You're welcome! I really liked the comic and the headcanons you brought up! And Vaati is the best grape! I wish there was more of him in the games.

I'm glad that you appreciate my art, and I agree with you 100% about Vaati! He's one of my favorite characters in the Legend of Zelda games, and I'm disappointed that he hasn't had much screen time.

kitsune-fox-god In reply to HopefulZero [2017-10-02 18:09:53 +0000 UTC]
He doesn't get the attention he deverves. I think he could be a greater villain if more attention was given to him instead of the go to villain Ganon. I'm honestly tired of him being the main villain. That's why my favorite LoZ game is Minish Cap. The only villain is Vaati, no other side villain or even a twist villain. It was just Vaati, and I liked that.
π: 0 β©: 1
HopefulZero In reply to kitsune-fox-god [2017-10-02 22:30:16 +0000 UTC]
I agree. Minish Cap was the only game that really spent time on his character. Ganon has been done well in many games, but I certainly think that it would be interesting to see another "just Vaati" game. I don't know if I have a favorite game, though. There's something I like a lot about each of the games. It could be plot, characters, gameplay, aesthetics, or even music, but there's usually something interesting to me in all of the games.

Yeah, another just Vaati game would be great. When DLCs for Hyrule Warriors were still being made, I wanted one made for Vaati. I would have loved to play as him (not that I could have if they did make one for him since I don't have a Wii U or Hyrule Warriors).
I can say that I love the music in the Zelda games. Sometimes I'll just sit in an area and listen to the music. I especially love Vaati's theme from Minish Cap. It's menacing, mysterious and powerful, just like him. It does a great job helping you really get a feel for Vaati.

HopefulZero In reply to kitsune-fox-god [2017-10-03 01:46:04 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. Although, I suppose I can't complain about the more recent games. They've had pretty interesting games for the Wii. I don't know much about most of the 3DS games though. Β
They do a wonderful job with the music in the Zelda games! The great thing about the Vaati theme is when you're playing the game, just minding your own business, and you hear his chuckle and then his theme music. THAT'S when you know it's about to get real.Β
I think my favorite song from Minish Cap is the theme for the Temple of Droplets. It's a pretty simple sound, but I like it a lot. In general, my favorite music would have to be from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and Windwaker. I wouldn't dare pick a favorite.

I love the Windwaker soundtrack. It's one of those games I often play JUST for the music. It's so pretty and relaxing.

Windwaker has a wonderful soundtrack, and is probably my favorite game to play. The music is intense when it has to be, like for boss battles, but I really like the sounds of the gentler tracks. Aryll's theme is super sweet. I've had the opportunity to play it on chimes, and it's so pretty.Β

When I want to relax, I'll listen to some of the more rexaling themes form the game, like The Legendary Hero (the prolouge song), Dragon Roost Island, The menu theme, and the Great sea to name a few.
I haven't learned to play any of them. I am learning the piano, and I want to be able to play some of these songs because they are so pretty.
π: 0 β©: 1
HopefulZero In reply to kitsune-fox-god [2017-10-04 12:12:34 +0000 UTC]
I do that, too. The theme for Dragon Roost Island really makes me happy. I'd love to learn that for the piano; it seems like such a fun piece. And I can listen to the theme for the Great Fairy's Fountain (from any of the games) for ages; it's so relaxing.
Good luck with learning the piano! It's a wonderful instrument. I'm sure that you'll be able to learn many of these songs in time.Β Β

Yeah, the Great Fairy's Fountain is a beautiful one, no matter what game it's in. Every time I hear it, no matter the game, I immediately feel more relaxed and calm. It's almost magical.
And thank you! I really like the sound of the piano, and I have one (It's actually my parent's, but they don't play). I thought that it was a shame to have one and not play it. So I took a piano fundamentals class at my college, and I'm going to keep practice on my own. I don't want that pretty piano to go to waste.

HopefulZero In reply to kitsune-fox-god [2017-10-05 02:48:51 +0000 UTC]
It really is magical. Especially in the games where they incorporate the harp - that's when the music really takes me to a calm, peaceful place.Β
Good for you! It's awesome that you've taken a class and are learning to play! ^.^ I love the piano too. I've been playing for a while and have taken several classes at college too. Even though I'm not great at it, it's something I really enjoy.Β

Oh, I love it when there is a harp in LoZ music. It adds a beautiful sound that can't be matched. Like The Ballad of The Goddes from Skyward sword, it's so pretty on a harp, as well as it's reverse Zelda's Lullaby.
Yup, I enjoy it as well. I just....need to clear off the piano. I'm kinda in the middle of moving with my family, so the piano got buried under a bunch of stuff. But I'll porbably take time this weekend to clean it off and get back to practicing.

I love the Ballad of the Goddess. It's interesting though, I think when Zelda was singing it was one of the few times in a Zelda game where characters actually were singing a song.
Oh, I see. Good luck with the move! Those can be busy and stressful. I moved a while ago, and I'm still not quite sure what things are in what boxes. It'll be nice to get back to practicing though.Β

Yeah, when I first heard Zelda singing that song my first playthough of SS, I freaked out. Most voice acting in Zelda games is grunts, groans and yelling. Until Midna, there wasn't any real voice acting, but she didn't have any real lines. So I was very surprised and excited when Zelda was ACTUALLY singing.
Thanks! It really is stressful, espicially when all of the Florida rain gets in the way of moving. Piece of advice, if you choose to live down a dirt lane thats a half mile long, make sure that you live in a relatively dry area or make sure that the lane stays in very good condition.

Me too! Breath of the Wild was very interesting with voice acting, too. It was certainly different, but not in a bad way.
Oh, dear... o3o That sounds a bit...unsafe. >.<;Β Did you finish moving everything though?
In the Northeast US, ice and snow are more of an issue than rain. Especially ice. I'm not a fan of walking/driving down a road or a driveway of slick ice.Β

kitsune-fox-god In reply to HopefulZero [2017-10-07 20:57:01 +0000 UTC]
I haven't played Breath of the Wild since I don't have a switch, but I've heard that it's good.
And we haven't finished moving. A bunch of rail came (i.e. Hurricane Irma) and everytime the lane sees a significant amount of rain it takes damage, so we can only drive down it when it's dry. The joys of living in the country in Florida. I've never had to deal with snow or ice unless we go somewhere during the winter, which we don't do.

I think it's pretty good. I don't think it's my favorite game, but it did a lot of interesting things, and did them well. Quite a few cool new characters too; I'm sure you've seen quite a few of them.
And I'm sorry to hear about the rain. It's been an ugly hurricane season. Β I hope you and your family are doing alright.Β
I kind of like winter. I like how pretty snow looks, and some colder days can be pleasant as long as you dress for them. However, I don't like having subzero temperatures and bitter snowstorms. Those can be a pain.

Yeah, I've seen a few. Not many though, I really only know about Sidon.
We are doing fine. We got lucky since we live inland, and are 2 hours away from the nearest coast. We didn't take any damage from the hurricanes so far.
I like winter as well. I prefer Spring, since that's when all the flowers start blooming, but Winter in Florida is nice. It's the only time of the year you don't feel like your melting into your furniture. Of course, it's also a strange winter. The humidity in Florida makes the winters seem colder, since it traps cold air against your skin. So I don't really know what real cold is like. If it get's below 60 degrees, I'm wearing a jacket.

Sidon is quite popular, as is Mipha. I see a lot of BotW Zelda and/or Link pictures, as well.
I'm happy to hear that. I'm glad that you're doing OK.
Humid winter, now that's a little different! o3o In New York, it's a pretty dry winter because the air is too cold to hold much water. I don't like being cold, so I have mixed feelings about winter here, haha. But, then again, it's also quite different to have such warm weather year-round; I'm not sure how well I would do in super-hot summers.
I like seeing flowers blooming, too. For some reason, flowers make me really happy.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
kitsune-fox-god In reply to HopefulZero [2017-10-08 19:19:25 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I see a lot of BotW Link. People really like that Link. I also see a lot of the new Zelda.
Me too. We did lose power because of Irma, but we got it back after 26 hours, which is a record in the area I live.
It is very different. At my college, I see people from areas up North that say that winter is very different in Florida. They even bundle up more than normal because of how much colder it feels, when it's not that cold. My normal outfit on a 50 degree day is long pants, long sleeved shirt, warm socks, a thick jacket, and a scarf if nesecary.
Flowers are so pretty. Seeing the bright colors they have can lighten my mood any day. One of my favorite flowers is the rose (Cliche, I know). I just really like how many different colors it comes in, and each color rose has a different meaning. A yellow rose is a symbol of friendship, pink for love, red for romance, and purple for enchantment(love at first sight).
π: 0 β©: 1
HopefulZero In reply to kitsune-fox-god [2017-10-08 20:55:08 +0000 UTC]
Me too. They're quite popular. The story is good, so I can see why they're so popular, but I suppose I'm not as big of a fan as most people are. Β
26 hours? o3o All things considered, that's not nearly as bad as it could have been, but it certainly sounds like an inconvenience.
That sounds like a reasonable outfit for a 50 degree day. I would be in long sleeves and long pants, as well, although I probably wouldn't have a super-thick jacket.
I love flowers; they're so pretty and they make me happy. (I know that's such a cheesy thing to say, but it's true.) I wouldn't call the rose cliche; I think it's popularity goes back such a long way because it is such a gorgeous flower. I like roses, too. It would be hard for me to choose a favorite color, but I'm very fond of deep red and/or deep purple flowers. The pastel colors, white, and bright yellow flowers have a bright cheeriness to them, but something about reds, purples, oranges, blues really reaches me. One of my favorite flowers is the red poppy flower, which doesn't have the same kind of petal complexity as the rose, but it still a charming flower.Β

Yeah, I like Link and Zelda, but I often prefer the other characters to them. The only Link I like is Wind Waker Link. He has some personality unlike some other Links. That's why Vaati is my favorite Loz character AND villain. He's really good, and still has a lot of potential that can be brought out of him if they made another game with him as the true villain, instead of a lame twist where it's actually Ganon who is he big baddy. It's been done before too many times. I want another game, that has JUST VAATI as the antagonist.
And yeah, it was an inconvinience. But it's also the fastest we've gotten power back. My dad said that years ago when 5 low level hurricanes came through, they were out of power for 5 WEEKS. And other people who live in the area were with out power for longer than we were.
In most places, yeah it is a resonable outfit. But....I also can wear that in the 51~60 degree weather, and for 61~70 degree weather I drop the jacket.
YEah, poppys are pretty. I really like all flowers. Well, all but three. They're pretty, but I can't be in the same room as them. I hate their scent. If they are in the same room as me, I hope to whatever diety there is that the room is well ventilated. If it's not, I try my best to breath as little as possible with out passing out. The three flowers are Daffodils, Narcissus, and Hyacinth. They are really pretty flowers, but I can not stand their scent. The one time we had a Hyacinth, we kept it in the kitchen next to the front door. We all went to work/school the day after getting it from Publix. When we got back, I almost fell down the stairs that lead to the front door because I immediatly recoiled from the smell. I had to wait outside the open front door for a few minutes until the scent dissapated. From then on, it was kept outside.

I think that part of the reason that Link tends to not have much personality is so that the player can project whatever personality onto him. I think in some of the more recent games, like Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Wind Waker, and Breath of the Wild, they give Link and Zelda some more personality. Still, I would agree that while Zelda and Link are great characters, there are also a lot of great other characters, heroes and villains alike. Vaati is one of my favorite characters, as are Ghirahim, Midna, Impa...There are a lot of great characters. I find myself having a hard time to name only one.
I do wonder what another "just Vaati" antagonist game would be like. If they were to make one, I would hope that they gave more attention to Vaati's character. One of the reasons that I enjoyed Wind Waker a lot was that they gave Ganondorf a lot of speech about his past, and his motives. That kind of depth of character for the villain would be great in another Vaati game. I mean, sure there was quite a bit in Minish Cap, but I would be interested to learn more from Vaati's perspective, kind of like how Ganondorf was able to talk about his past and interests.
Well, the important thing is that you have power and are fine. uwu
I like to wear pants most of the time, but above 60 I tend to wear short sleeves. I wouldn't wear a jacket in 50 degree weather unless it was raining. Β
Ohhh. I how that goes. I love a good flower, but if it smells bad...No, thank you.Β
You almost fell down the stairs?!? That sounds rough! The closest thing I have to any sort of experience like that was at school, there were these trees that would have huge bundles of lovely white blossoms...but they smelled like fish, and not in a good way. I'm sure whoever's idea it was to plant the trees near the school had the best intentions, but...I'm not a fan of the smell.Β

Yeah. I'm glad that they have more personality. They were really bland compared to others. Heck, even the creepy Happy Mask Salesman had more personality than many previous Links. That's why I often prefer side characters or villains. They had more personality than the hero. That's why I enjoyed playing Minish Cap and Skyward Sword. The villains (except Demise) were interesting.
I would love to know more about Vaati. I mean, he's cannonically dead now, but that has yet to stop Ganondorf. So they can pull a revival sequence for Vaati or a reincarnation/rebirth or something. I really want to know more about Vaati.
Yeah, it's just hard to know what to wear in Florida durning the winter. Somedays call for a jacket, and others don't. Somedays even are weird. You need a jacket in the shade, but no jacket in the sun. It's ridiculous. On those days, I just wear a jacket no matter what, unless it becomes unbearable.
Yeah. I hate it when a flower looks pretty, so you get close to smell it, then it's 'Oh GOODNESS GRAVY THAT SMELLS!' That's why I often rank my favorite flowers by their appearance AND smell. Like Lavender. It's a pretty flower, AND smells nice. The scent also helps you fall asleep and can improve sleep quality. That's why when I find it hard to sleep, I spray a lavender scented spray across my bed. It's very relaxing.

Very true, very true. Although, I thought the whole Ghirahim/Demise dynamic was kind of interesting. Even if Demise is essentially a Ganondorf, I though that the character development was interesting.
I'm sure they could very easily figure out some sort of revival sequence. I don't know much about the chronology of the Zelda games, but if Minish Cap was before the Four Swords games, then wouldn't Vaati be alive?
That's tough...It's hard to be prepared when there can be such dramatic swings in temperature. I haven't been to many places where it's really cold at one time and super warm at another, but it was super disorienting. I prefer to err on the warm side, as well. I'd rather be a little too warm than to be too cold.Β
I must confess, I think I tend to look at flowers more than I smell them. I don't tend to notice foul flower smells unless they're pretty bad. o3oΒ I like sweet pea flowers though. They may not be super impressive flowers, but I love how pleasant they smell. Lavender flowers are lovely, too. It's hard to argue with a flower that's colorful, smells nice, AND is good for you.Β

kitsune-fox-god In reply to HopefulZero [2017-10-14 03:20:41 +0000 UTC]
I honestly prefer Ghirahim as a villain than Demise. Ghirahim was actually a challenge, and every scene he was in was amazing. My favorite line of his is the one he says almost everytime he engages Link in battle. "Let us dye the string of fate that ties us together red with your blood." That one line says a lot about Ghirahims personality. It shows that he is intelligent, violent, and he's even polite. He introduces himself AND asks for Links name before trying to kill him. No other villain did/does that. They just call him something along the lines of boy or hero. Ghirahim, on the other hand, takes time to learn the name of his opponent, even if he thinks that they are going to die immeadieatly. And he's the only villain that is,again, POLITE. He has manners, even apologizing, APOLOGIZING, to Link in there second encounter when he says that he forgot his name. But after that, he remembers.
And Four Swords did come after, but apparently the two Four Swords games (original and the recent remake) are different games, despite the same story line. The first one ended with Vaati being sealed away again, while the new one officially killed him. So in the official Zelda timeline, Vaati is canonically dead. But,again, that hasn't stopped Ganondorf, so why has it stopped Vaati? It might be because, compared to other villans, Vaati isn't as popular. There isn't a lot of fanart for him compared to other caracters from the Zelda games, but I think thats because he hasn't been used to his full potential. Because there isn't much known about him, they could easily make a game that stars him as the true villan, and give him more backstory.
Same here. Warm beats cold. One of my favorite things to do during winter, is on nights when it's actually cold out (or Christmas day no matter the weather unless it really is too warm) is to make a fire in our fire place. I like the sound of the flames eating the wood, I love the smell, and I really enjoy watching the flames dancing. It's really relaxing. That's one of the reasons I like cooler weather over warm. Also, in Florida, Spring and Summer suck because sweat doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Sweat is supposed to evaporate, taking heat away with it. In Florida, when you sweat, it sticks to you, making you even hotter than you were before. That's another reason I like it cold. You don't sweat as much.
Yeah, I really like looking at any helpful affects that a flower or plant may have. For example, peppers are actually good for helping a sore throat and your stomach. Ginger does what it's myth says: it's good for stomach aches. I use ginger more often for an upset stomach than I do medication (I also just really love ginger. It's so good.) Dandilions (when they are the golden flower, not the white seedy fluff ball) are edible and can be added to salads for color. Plants are amazing things. They can be our greatest friend by providing us oxygen to breath, others, like the Manchineel tree, literally turns the rain that touches it into acid that will burn you if it touches you.

I enjoyed Ghirahim's character a lot, too. So much so, that I'd say he was probably my favorite character in Skyward Sword. He's a very strange mix of character traits - an ironic combination of civility and malice. In one moment he would be cool and collected, but in mere seconds later he could be shouting in fury. His movements in the game - gestures and fighting style - are unlike any other character in the Zelda games, and I thought he was just very interesting. He also has a pretty great music theme. I wouldn't have minded if he was the main villain, but if that were the caseI'm not sure what his motives would be, given that his goal in the game is to revive Demise.
I suppose that makes sense, although it's still a little odd to me. But, I agree that it would be easy to bring Vaati back into the story. I'm not sure if it has to be with Vaati not being as popular; I think it's because he's considered a side villain, and perhaps harder to introduce into the Link-Zelda-Ganondorf story. After all, people really enjoyed Majora's Mask, but that doesn't mean that they'll bring Majora back.Β
I love the sound of a fire in the fire place. And, the smell is wonderful, too. Just the thought of it makes me feel relaxed. It's plenty cold enough here to use the fireplace throughout Winter, but I love a nice warm, fire pit outside in the Fall, as well. The combination of the crackling of the wood and the scent of pine woodsmoke combined with the crisp Fall air and smell of the fallen leaves just makes me really happy.Β
Ugh, clingy sweat sounds pretty miserable. It never really gets too hot up here, so that isn't usually as much of a problem.
Plants are awesome! ^.^ I'm always impressed when people can identify all sorts of plants in the wild, or say something about the qualities of plants. It's something I think it would be cool to learn more about. I think I've learned something like that about peppers before, but I didn't know about ginger. Probably because I don't really ever eat ginger, haha. For some reason, the taste of ginger is too strong for me. People have done all sorts of culinary things with yellow dandilion flowers. It's lovely how something relatively common can do so many things.
I haven't heard of the Manchineel tree before. o3o There's a dangerous tree for you. Are there many of those around in Florida? The only comparably dangerous tree that I know of are the stinging trees in Australia, which are fairly friendly-looking plants but can cause extreme pain to people who touch it.

Yeah, he would make a great true villain. Espicially since at the end of Skyward sword he technically disappeared. He could make a comeback easily. I would like to see him again. He was a well made villain. Plus, how many other characters in the Zelda universe hum their own theme? I know of only one other, and that was Midna.
Yeah. I mean, he is a side villain I guess. But that's also what gives him great potential. Because he's a side villain, there's nothing set in stone for him other than what is already known. We don't know anything about his life as a Minish, we don't know why he wanted/decided to be Ezlo's apprentice. There is so much potential.
Yeah, there are scents of the season that are so comforting and nostalgic. Like cinnamon during fall. My parents always by cinnamon scented brooms to hang in the house. Then there's the smell of a log fire, and the ever traditional scent of evergreen trees. All those scents are really relaxing and comforting.
Clingy sweat is the worst, especially when it dries. When it dires, you'd think that it gets better, but it leaves behind the salt, making you feel even stickier. And then that salt gets picked up by more sweat. It's really gross, and makes working outside hard.
It's definitely useful to know random facts about plants. They come in handy. For the ginger thing, if the tase of straight ginger is too strong, you could try ginger ale (it's made with ginger and being a soda makes it sweet) or a tea with ginger. A tea that has ginger in it that I like it a ginger-lemon tea. it's not sour, and there is just enough ginger for you to taste it.
And the Manchneel tree is found in Florida, but it's also found in the tropical areas of this region. It also holds the world record for 'world's deadliest tree'. Everything about the tree, from the roots to the fruit and EVEN the AIR AROUND IT, is deadly. You can't even safely dispose of the tree by cutting it down or burning it. Fortunately, in populated areas, locations with Manchinnel trees are marked, and the individual trees usually have a red ring of paint around them.

Yeah, "disappeared" is right. There's really no indication that Ghirahim actually died, and if Ganon keeps coming back, there's certainly reason to believe that the demon lord could come back as well. He made the game for me. I almost forgot that he hums his own theme! That's fantastic. Midna was great, too.Β
I agree. Vaati has a lot of potential. The Minish Cap did give him some great back story, but his past as a Minish and life as Ezlo's apprentice would be great to discover more about.
Cinnamon during fall is one of my favorite smells. Although, cinnamon and pine could also be very seasonal for winter. Still, all those scents are comforting. Cinnamon-scented brooms sound very nice! That's a very cool idea! ^.^ There are also scents of seasonal foods being cooked that are very pleasant.Β It's interesting, sometimes I have music that I listen to that reminds me of smells or seasons in the past. For example, I have songs that I remember listening to a lot during the spring, and listening to them makes me recall the smell of fresh grass and only mildly chilly weather, if that makes sense.
Ugh, sticky salty sweat. It serves its purpose, but it certainly makes me feel unclean after doing work.
I do like ginger ale, but I really don't like much else with ginger, haha. I'm not a huge fan of ginger in tea, even just a little ginger in soup, it's not for me, I guess. It's a wonderful root though.
World's deadliest tree, huh? No thanks.Β Β The worst plants we have where I am are poison ivy, poison sumac, giant hogweed, and a couple more. Most of these aren't too bad though; the worst they give is skin irritation or blisters on contact. Sure, some of them have longer lasting effects than others, but none of them make the air around them toxic. >.<;

I would love for there to be a game where Ghirahim comes back for revenge against Link and Zelda for what they did to Demise. That would be cool, and it doesn't even have to be the Link and Zelda from SS. It could be diferent incarnations, and a new Hyrule to explore. I would really like that, and think that would be awesome. They could also bring back the Twilight Realm.
Vaati has so much unused potential. There is so much they can do with him, and I'd like to see it.
Cinnamon brooms are availabe in my area in Publix, but I'm pretty sure they are available online. I suggest getting one or two. They last a long time, and fill your home with a cinnamon scent that is strong, but not so strong as to be unpleasent. And that makes sense. I have songs that so that as well. Every year about this time, I make some cookies(I only make them once a year because I litterely burned out a hand mixer making them) and I love listening to some music while making them. Sometimes hearing them during different times of the year brings the scent of the cookies to my mind.
And sweat only does it's job in places with low humidity. In Florida, instead of helping you cool off, it makes heat cling to your skin, making you even hotter than you were before. It really sucks.
Well, that makes sense. Ginger is a very string tasting root. If you ever feel adventurous, you should try Ginger Beer. It's non-alchoholic, and just like ginger-ale, but with a definitely stronger ginger taste. It works just as well as eating straight ginger, but if you aren't prepaired you might gag from the strong taste catching you off guard. It's not a bad taste, just VERY strong. I personally llike it better than ginger-ale, but then again, I'm the person who eats pickeled ginger out of a jar for a snack, so you should use your own judgment.
Yeah, the closer you live to the tropics, the more creative the toxic plants are. Oleander is deadly if eaten and not treated, and will make you deathly sick if you burn it. The Pointsettia is toxic if ingested, and deadly to pets. I'm hosetly not afraid of animals that could be deadly. Stay away from them and you'll be fine. But you can't stay away from plants, and they can even look like a plant that won't harm you. Take the tomato for example: the fruit is the only part of it that is safe to eat. The rest is toxic. The tomato is even in the same family as Belladona(Deadly) Nightshade.
