Brown College, Minesota. So far so good, my class of Game Design students are the first through the program so we get gipped on many of the new stuff (revamped art classes , technology, etc)... but its a good school, always find new and good talent, unfortunately not always packaged with the drive to do as well.

wow! i'm getting excited again... anyway, i am still thinking which i will take coz animation and game art design is almost the same. can you give me some advice or any info about the course you are taking? i want to be a character designer so which should i take? animation or game art design?

Well many game artists, the way my teacher describes (justin spoelstra), eventually work their way into animation since there is always a need for animators and is usually the most sought after position in just about all projects. Plus the pay is good :wink:. If you are more drawn to art like the pieces that you have posted on dA then most likely I would say take Game Art.
In order to learn what the industry standards are and to refine your skillz, you will probably have more time in the future to take animation since once you have mastered your art it will be much easier to convey it into animation. Obviously you are an artist thus you can texture/skin pretty easily or are a quick learner in this aspect, the second step is being able to 3D model (knowing how the human body works like musculature, running, etc helps greatly. *search for Muybridge*). After you can handle modeling you can apply your textures to it and finally animate.
Looking at articles on Gamespot.com I came across this link, it has interviews with Game Artists in the industry and what got them started its titled "So You Want to be an: Artist"

I've also got two friends in dA, that I think would help you to take a look at:
1. ~inu-sushi , she is in my class and I think you two have much in common she also is one of the artists of Jack of All Trades [link]
2. ~M1K3S , he is quite the 3D modeler just getting into that aspect several months ago... if you need an advanced critique he'll give it to you.
Actually they probably both will give you hard honest critiques. Hope this helps you out ^^. If you need anything else drop me a line.
