and man making consistent steady cash is the problem. i've been freelancing for a while (before, during, and after school) and the money comes and goes. some months are really good then others or not. i'm currently working for Oni and about to start another children's book. but unfortunately as much as I love doing it, it's not enough to pay all my bills. i have to work a day job. the thing with comics though is that, that's pretty much how it works until, you're big enough to earn more money. if you're looking for something a tad more steady, i'd look into heading up to california and trying to get concept work (backgrounds for tv/movies, storyboarding, character designing, etc.) it's still a lil rough to get into but they do pay more for less work. you might get a 100 or more dollars for a turnaround and design, wherein in comics that's pretty much the average pro starting page rate, (often times less than that) comics is definitely a business that you do cause it brings you inner peace. although there's always examples of people who get lucky and make a good bit of money early on.

and i've looked at your work and you're extremely good, so there's a good chance that you could definitely be one of those who can make a decent living off of it. my advice would be to head to a few cons, in particular, san diego comic-con or new york con, which are some of the biggest, and show your portfolio around. and start building contacts. it's crazy cause you never know who you might bump into at a big con. and the big companies like nickelodeon, and sometimes even lucas arts are often having portfolio reviews. but at the same time i'd hit up a couple of smaller ones like heroes con or emerald con, cause once again you never know who you might bump into and it raises your chances to standout at a smaller one.

anyway sorry for the length and i hope that helps. ultimately i say just keep submitting stuff and improving your skills and you'll be fine.

thank you so much for the advice, you are never sorry for the length of this message, i really appreciate your advice! yeah , if i didnt get a job offer one month after graduation, i think i will travel around and attend cons. what my wife and i planned is that we will move to LA or San diego after graduation and meet people there.
