is your best form of expression (in my opinion),

hay!! i was just wondering about how u tackle colouring a peice!! im realy struggling to grasp it for my style of art!!?!?!

I always try to make all the shadows in the drawing,
stablishing lightning sources to the character etc.
Then scan it at 600dpi, correct the image taking
advantage in the texture of the paper, try correcting it
16 or 32 bits, then make the drawing a layer, which will
be the upper one, multiplying or in linear burn
then in a layer below try putting colors like water color
or gouache. Then youΒ΄ll see that you can "paint" leaving
the original drawing intact...

cool thankyou! i willl definately attempt colouring alot more i just find that i cant make the colour match the illustration but i htink thats just down to trial and error!

The thing is to try different things until you
find your own formula. See the pictures you like
the most and try to do the effects you like by
your own ways, practice with colors, keep them
clean and in a limited amount per work so they
dont look too "rainbowish", try with different
textures and see which fits the mood of your
work(if needed) study lightning sources over a
character, creature scenery etc
...but above all things just try,
try and do it again...
