Hey, I am a huge fan of your artwork. I am new to art and I'm not very good. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on what pencil types to use for the right kinds of shading. Thanks a lot.

I use a regular bluntish hb pencil to do a rough sketch and then make finer lines by using a 0.2 mm mechanical pencil.

The only real advise i can really give is take your time, some of my drawings lines took me a day or two to get right, if something looks awkward or out of proportion then rub it out and try again on that part of the drawing, id advise using a mars plastic rubber as they don't leave much of a marking at all.

I use the same pencil for all shading, using different types only makes things harder, its all about the angle you draw at and the pressure applied, id say the beat time to practice is if you are bored. Draw rough drawings and see how the shading is affected by what pressure and angle you put on the paper.

Some people can draw at an amazing skill level naturally, im not one of those guys, i got to the level i am from years of practice and a lot of trial and error, its frustrating but its all you can do to get better with your own style of drawing.
