Hey, no problem.  I have been alright.  I struggled a little bit during the fall semester, overwhelmed with work and conferences, but this semester has gone off to a great start.  I am teaching a comic book production and analysis class, and I have wonderful students for that.  My other courses also have good students.

Nothing, I just updated the site's layout is all. The instructions are on the home page: "To view previous pages, click on any of the chapters under the 'Archives' menu. For the most recent page posted, click 'Archives'" (in accordance to basic blog format; nothing unusual).

All the pages for each chapter are up and have been (except for Chapter 3, which only features the cover as of right now). Perhaps they simply didn't load the first time you looked? That's the only reason I can conjure as to why you only could see the chapters. I'm just organizing my sites in a way similar to that of most web comics artists. Sorry for the confusion.

Looks like that's why I was having trouble finding them- most webcomics seem to use a "current page on the front" layout, instead of having to click to the archive. Guess it was just a little disorienting.

I'm okay, just trucking along. How about you? I've thought about giving up with deviantart. If you don't produce weird fanart or cliche anime/manga images of girls dressed as maids and getting violated, then no one is interested in your work. No one wants to see anything original or unique; they all want the same recycled crap. I have had much better luck doing other things with my work.

You might leave dA? I'm sorry to hear that. There's a site called Weasyl that I've heard good things about. I've noticed that about this site, too, but there are many artists who are popular without fanart. is a really popular artist, and he almost never uploads fan art. Anyway, it's just one of the faster ways to become popular on this site, but I thought people really liked your artwork. It's very beautiful and it has a great message to it.

As I mentioned in the previous message, it's not just fan art; it's the prevalence of specific styles and subject matter (including that of the artist you mentioned).

Thank you for your kind words--I don't think I'm going to leave DA. I just think it's somewhat of a waste of energy and am not going to put so much effort into my page anymore. My art website gets way more traffic from other means. Deviant art has not led a single person to my official website, and that is disappointing. When it comes to using DA for professional purposes, it is really for artists who already have a huge fan base and are established in their market. This is what I do for a living, so I think I'm pretty spot-on about this place, by now. It's done nothing for me professionally. However, I've met some very nice, artistic people here

You're Welcome. You're art is really good, and it should be seen. I actually learned about your website from deviantART. I'm a member of a few hyena groups, and your work appeared several times in the folders, and I thought it was really good. ^^ Then I found out about your website, and shortly later, we were on eachother's Watch lists. I agree though, most people on dA who become popular are comic artists and the like, or people who make fan art for Lion King or something similar. But while that may be true, you're right when saying there are very nice people on the site, and it was very nice to meet you.
