Well, that's why you have the internet. Read manga, get their backgrounds into your head. Always use a pencil first, lightly drag, not forceful dragging of the pencil when drawing until you're sure. -_-"But what're you working on?

i'm working on coloring and charcter design...it's difficult....I never really tried doing well detailed background s it would be an issue for me..but i have done simle ones were it's just easy shapes and colors....thanks for the tip too, i do tend to forget about paying attention to the backgrounds in a manga....

Haha, well, I'm gonna start on a canvas. I felt like painting, so I had my boyfriend do the honor of picking a picture. Funny, he picked a picture of me; I don't like drawing/painting pictures of myself but oh well, it's for him.

Hmm, and after this one, I'm planning to buy oil paint because I've planned to do an original piece.

Well, I'm working on a piece right now. I'm actually giving this one to my boyfriend for Valentine's Day but don't worry, I'll take a picture and post it up before he gets it. After that, I'm also thinking of painting one of my drawn artworks and that one's gonna hang around the house.

I'm doing a Chuck Close painting for the first one (the one for my boyfriend) and I still haven't decide how I'm gonna paint the second one... I could...make the heart of my artwork with color and the rest in neutral colors. What do you think?
