I'm confused. XD how can you be a lesbian if you're nonbinary and not female, I'm pretty sure a lesbian is a gay female person, trans or cis. 
Can you please explain? I'm an ally but I've never heard a nonbinary person call themselves a gender-specific orientation. Gay can apply to any gender, but lesbian is usually used to refer only to females as far as I know. If I'm wrong, please DO correct me c:

alright so here's the layout, if someone is gender binary they can identify as any gender, so it doesnt matter if they call themselves gay or lesbian, and if we're being entirely honest 'gay' is the word used for when two males like eachother but as you said you think it's okay for a non binary person to be called 'gay' but not 'lesbian'. theyre both just different terms for being homosexual.
second thing is that's...and incredibly offensive and personal thing to ask without any regards for the others feelings/opinions. you say youre an ally but if you were you'd be a little more considerate before saying something like that smh. thank you, and gnight.

Thanks for explaining and thanks for saying it was rude to say. I tend to not realize when I'm being rude to others due to my social disability.
But I do totally support LGBT+ rights. Back a few years ago I was homophobic, but nowadays I'm not.
I've grown a lot since 2012 actually. 
There's nothing wrong with being gay or nonbinary at all, because being one of those is not a choice and isn't something that can be controlled.
There's nothing wrong with being trans either.
I just say things that are rude sometimes to everyone because I have a hard time telling what is rude and what isn't. I'm very socially inept and unskilled. And I also have Asperger Syndrome too but that's not an excuse to be an asshole, at most only misunderstandings can be blamed on it if you didn't know something was wrong/rude to say
But I have nothing against LGBT+ people and I totally support their struggle for recognition and equality. They're just as human as I am.
The main reason I try so hard to be an ally (My other LGBT+ friends often tell me I try WAY too hard) is because I tend to say things that could come across as ignorant/rude because I don't know everything and I tend to have a hard time understanding how other people feel, and I want everyone to know that I 100% support LGBT+ rights, even if I say some things that could make you think the contrary.
I also have problems wording what I say correctly, so I often come across as offensive when I really don't intend to.
