Hey! I'm fine, slowly melting ... but the rest is good. Anxiously waiting for the exams session to end, 2 more to go and I'm done!
How about you? You doing alright?

Are you slowly toasting in Romania then? Heh it's very warm here but we only had 1 proper sunshine week at start of June!
Remind me what you're studying? Is it drama-related? I read in one of your old journals you studied in London a while ago, how did it go?
I'm good just setting myself creative tasks to keep myself busy, writing and drawing mainly

Toasting? No no no, roasting in our own juices. We have plenty of sunshine here, but I would really like a beach nearby. Probably I'm gonna pop into a train one morning and go to the seaside. Unfortunately I have a job, so I can't do that whenever I want.
I'm studying Directing for Film and Television. I gave up acting, I'm just not cut for it. In London I studied Acting for Camera, but I had to leave (I had no more money left), so I didn't finish the course.
That's good, keeping yourself busy doing stuff you like. I just wish I had more time to do stuff I like, I haven't drawn in months, and I have so many short-film ideas ...

Yeh I prefer the heat when it comes with sunshine Does Romania have beaches? I thought it was land-locked but I might be wrong! (yes, on closer inspection you do have a coastline ]
Actually I think it's the opposite in a way, I only work 1 day a week for my family [but I consider that not having a real job! I don't earn much anyway] and I can't do whatever I want I think if I had more days of work I would have to money to do so!
Ooh, that sounds similar to what I was doing (took a Media Degree - we made lots of films/radio plays/animation, etc!) it was fun. How was London for you?
yeh I spose a full working job doesn't leave you with enough time & energy to spare! But the money's helpful!

A full working job + the University + other project I got myself into = NO TIME at all. And all the money goes into paying the University and equipment for making movies(camera, lenses, mics, now I need a new computer *sigh*). At least my energy levels are OK.
Cool, we aren't doing any radio plays, but we do news reports, documentaries and film, and I think we will study animation too in the 3rd year.
London was great, loved it, the weather was fine too while I was there, but I don't think I could live in a place like that, rain is nice only a couple of months per year. I wanted to relocate in London, but changed my mind. And not only because of the weather, realized I would be better in Romania, and I am.
Why don't you change your job? You have a degree in Media, why don't you look for a job that has something to do with it, or do your own movies or something? I know it's hard to get out of the comfort zone, been there, believe me, but you can't really do anything if you don't get out of it. You should have seen me about 2 years ago, I was lametastic , but as soon as I got over my comfort zone, my life changed completely. You must have a dream or something ... just go for it. And don't blame it on the parents, they don't have you chained.

ooh yeah if you're still at Uni that must be a cash-eater sadtimes! Tuition Fees in UK now are terrible though, I was lucky to get in early the year before they raised them! (I don't know how any teens going to uni now can afford it, something like £6000-£12000 a year? )
My cameras I used at Uni recently went broken (like, blind...it's like they can't see light) which sucks until I can find someone to repair them!
News reports? that's cool, we never got to do those! Documentaries are fun though Our animation was 3rd year also.
You must have had a lucky streak! England gets a lot of rain haha. I know a romanian but she moved out to Spain (on the..'Erasmus' thing? and stayed!) but Romania doesn't seem bad to me!
I am always looking for a job and applying (for a few years now) but most places say no. Maybe it's because of the recession, lots of people find it hard getting jobs here. Just gotta keep trying! Employers don't want people with degrees here, they want previous experience in a similar job, which makes it hard when you're starting out like me.

Yeah, everybody wants people with experience! We got that here too. So I'm making my own experience , working on freelance and personal projects, at least like that I can make a portfolio to show around. Apparently here it works, so I guess I'm kinda lucky.
Romania is not bad at all if you know how to take advantage of any little thing that appears in your path. Problem is, you have to learn how to do things by yourself, Romanian schools suck! (yeah, even the one I'm going to)
Wow, that's expensive! £6000-£12000 a year? Mother of sweet baby Jesus! I will stop complaining! Mine is about £1000 a year, but then again I only earn half of that a month.
What cameras do you own? I'm using a Canon 600D D-SLR. It's not fantastic, but does its job.

Yeh they do and it kinda sucks 'cos you gotta start with experience somehow! You sound very motivated though. I'm incredibly introvert, so it's harder for me fitting into social situations required for work.
But yeah I guess as you said you need to make your own experience somehow even if no-one's offering work!
So why do Romanian schools suck?
Yeah when I was at Uni it was £1400 a year, all the students after me had to pay £3000 a year, then after that it went up and there were big demonstrations against it in London :s Wayyy too much money, education should be free!
I have 2 HDV cameras, my main one is a Sony HDR FX1E, but yeh now that it's gone blind it's not so good!

Hey, sorry for the late reply. You are very welcome.
Well ... at the time of your comment it was sunny, warm and fuzzy, now it snows like it's the end of the world. We have a harsh winter this spring ... I hate it.

ahh I'm sorry too!
responding fast hasn't been possible recently
I was hoping since you were a lot more south (than the UK) you'd get more warmth, but I guess it's not true?
We had some long times of snow too this Winter, sucks that it has to be so cold! It's eaten up the first month of Spring so I hope it warms up soon. For you too!

UK is really cold and damp. But so is Romania right now. The snow is gone, but the weather is really weird , it rains for 2-3 days then it's sunny for another 2, and repeat. But ... I guess it should rain in the Spring.
Hope you're doing alright and Spring comes fast to the UK!

I need to go travelling to a hot place I think. Mediterranean Sea or something, hehe
cheers miss!

Yeah, I've been in the UK, twice, 2 years ago.
Great to hear it's getting better there.
I don't need to travel anywhere for hotness, Summer is coming.
Have a great week, sir!

yeah true, and Romania gets better summers than us anyway! (we're too far North!)
thanks gal!

Yes I did, and I intend to go back for another visit (maybe next year if my wallet allows it, the UK is a really expensive country ). I've been to London, as you well guessed, and also to York.
So, as an update, apparently the summer is already here, 28-31ºC (82-88ºF) in the shade. I really don't want to think about August .

ah nice. I think I've been to London only about 4 times. I live in the South, but the other end of the country!
Yeah UK is way too expensive, our government likes to raise money on everything - worst thing is studying here at Uni because the Tuition Fees are so high. Sad times! I think it's cheaper travelling around mainland Europe, you guys got it lucky there!
28-31ºC sounds lovely and toasty my kind of weather! (as long as some sunshine comes with it!)
