I had an itch to draw some of the other space knights after I started reading Infinity. Some of them made an appearance on that series. I'm still not sure what angle I'm taking on this. I might wait til after the series is over. Especially after reading this.

The review on Infinity #1, on the link you provided, is a a knee jerk reaction. I was also peeved after picking up issue after issue and not seeing anything mentioned about them. I eventually forgot about it all until today. Hearing that they will comp back in some capacity in issue 6 is nice. It might not be anything big but it seems like there is an idea there being kicked around for the future.

How are feeling now about it?

i read that article a few days after it first turned up on the net. as for the knee jerk reaction post i think you'll find that feeling of having been screwed over among Rom fans isn't going away any time soon. you may have also taken note of the prediction made in that posting about the "spaceknight table scraps" marvel would soon after try to feed us as if we're supposed to be grateful for like some hungry dogs at the dinner table. and sure enough look what turns up a month after Infinity #1 www.romspaceknightart.blogspot…

That's a good point. I could see Marvel throwing that out there after the fact, just trying to appease Rom fans.

… Although I'm sure Infinity's issue 6 was already written when issue 1 was released. Right? It's hard to tell when the last two issues are further out on the release dates compared to the first four. I would think that their appearance in this series would be a sneak peek into what is to come. Can't wait to see what this last issue holds for everyone in the Marvel universe!

i have to admit the series looks pretty good from what i've seen browsing at the later issues but i dropped it after #1 never the less. the clip art in that posting came from someone else. as a Rom fan i'm extremely disappointing just like i was with the Annihilators and the return of Hybrid in Avengers Academy. i really don't think marvel is doing justice to Rom's legacy and in general what they have been doing with it doesn't seem to be geared toward the old school fans. Infinity #1 was the first new marvel comic i've bought in almost 2 years but they lost me again as far as getting me back as a regular reader.

I don't know. To me, as much as I think it would be cool to see something on the Spaceknights, they just aren't eye appealing or have a plot that is unique. They need a redesign and a good writer to have a new take on that portion of the Marvel universe. Rom is sort of unique but as you stated, there is licensing issues. I hope something comes of it after this Infinity series. If anything, at least a mini series.

the original spaceknights are classics. fans of the original Rom series understand and appreciate them as well as what made everything about the Rom series something preserving. marvel doesn't write stories that do a good job of bridging the gap between those fans and new ones and that's why they're not getting any more of my money.

There are brawls where multiple people compete at once but for the most part its a one on one thing. The one on one matches can be done as street fights, where you can call out someone or ask for a willing competitor. The most common ones though are the monthly ranked matches. Post in this month's middleweight (Nov) thread and ask to be included in next months rankings. Then keep an eye out for the Dec Middleweights thread to see who you are paired up with.
