All I can say is that I just finished the last book about two months ago and I just loved it! I had a few small issues, but nothing that really took away from my overall enjoyment of the series. Its characters were just so vivid as well as all the imagery described how could someone not want to illustrate parts of it! LOL

I have an answer to your question as to why someone would not want to illustrate parts of it, if the person cannot draw, or they dont want to portray the characters wrong. lol But yeah the books are incredible.
