An OC means and original character. It simply means that the owner of the character is the soul creator and owns it completely. They can do what they like with it; roleplay with it, draw it, write a story, whatever they want.

However, it is very different from a persona/fursona. They are representations of their person. A persona is generaly human, or have a human form. Fursonas are animals or anthro animals, hence the 'fur' -sona.

No. There is no place TO register it. It's just a name for a character that you created. Like a title.
Like my Cyclo. He is one of my original characters. He isn't trademarked or anything, but he is mine and original and a character; therefore an original character.

As for emoticons, there should be a link somewhere around the text box you are typing in. Just look fr the word 'emoticons'.
For example, i open the emoticon window, i want to use one of them and it tells me that i have to put 'la' in the middle of : :

There are also plz accounts floating around. Their pure purpose is to serve as emoticons. You just simply link their icon into your comment, like so:
