I love your elves series! And may I say when I first saw your artwork I though it was branching out into original art but then realised the style differs > < I really really love how you paint fabrics, I don't suppose you have any WIP shots or tutorials lying around do you? Hope to see more awesome art from you!

Crikey! That is high praise indeed Euclase is one of my most favourite artists :-D
I do have some wip shots here and there, but they tend to be a bit random. Basically I only really save a wip image if I'm having a break from the painting. I keep telling myself I should do more as people have asked before... but I forget. I do have a couple of wip compilation videos on my vimeo channel here:Β vimeo.com/annetheviking/videos
Two of them have quite a lot of fabric in them

It was intended to be a very big compliment Oh I'm going to go crazy on those videos > < Seriously though your colour scheme is insane like everything just meld together so perfectly, I'm hoping with enough time and practice I can achieve the same as well

I have no doubt you will. Colour is actually my weakness... I love colours, but I need loads of reference and fiddle about with the colours for ages before getting what I want. I find it really hard. Good reference is so important, especially when you're going for a realistic look

jyongyi In reply to missterkelsen [2016-05-23 00:12:57 +0000 UTC]
I think its most people's weakness lol, I know right, its absolutely a nightmare to make sure all your references match especially in shades and lighting > <

Your portraits and use of lighting are ethereal. Have you painted Loki? I feel like you could do his evil beauty justice.

When it's about what we we do it sure is difficult to act rationally! When I was working a full job I remember staying up late often to work in order not to forget what I learned.
I wish to you all the best Anne.

Thanks for the fav of my Mukade ACEO ^_^ Goodness I nearly threw up three times drawing that damned thing !! No I do not lik things that own more than 4 legs *shudders* ... you had better still only have two...

Last time I looked I'm not too bad with the centipedes... Had it been a spider I would've probably thrown up looking at it

xD aww, I prefer some spiders to centipedes or earwigs I will admit, at least they are kinda furry.

Thanks for the fav of my Trailblazer ACEO! ^_^ I'm so glad you like my tiny works. Thanks too for linking me to Damo's offer, a shame we already purchased literally a few hours prior. I'm sure his tablet would have been cheaper and better 'sigh' hey-ho - I have a new medium Intuous so here i go trying to digi paint. I've had a lot of fun playing around with it already ^_^ Don;t think I'll ever reach perfection in this medium but it's a lot more fun than 'real' paint!

Hey, you're welcome. You rock at painting animals. Well, all your stuff's ace... but I have a particular soft spot for the animals. Probably because I can't draw them meself I hope you enjoy your tablet... I'm sure you will. I love mine to bits. Couldn't do without it. You'll get the hang of it in no time, and then there'll be no going back:-D

De-Vagrant In reply to missterkelsen [2014-06-05 05:34:23 +0000 UTC]
Oh you are so not kidding! I've been sick as a dog (again >.<) but wow I didn't think there would be such a vast difference between the bamboo and the Intuous.
It's really intuitive! (no really Sharlene you think they called it that for another reason?)Β
So *ahem* - excusing the blonde moment of glee I will say that this tablet is excellent!
I'm still a bit flaky/learning but it's much much easier to work with - hooray!
Once I learn a few things I'll try a cat or animal - I'm game to do fur the complicated way hehe...in the meantime I got this odd faun thing...ok this was made after i asked my husband to pick colours and er that was it. No preconceptions and yes a scrap but I was so excited I could make a scrap like this right away ^_^
...edit...I don't have premium membership...so please see the uploaded digi work on my main page - it won't let me add it here by the looks of things. Sorry about that - i wasn't going to upload it as an actual piece either but hey-ho - it's there!

Let me know if you'd like some brushes. You can survive just fine with the normal PS brushes. I did so for ages, but I have some from the amazing Matha Dahlig who very kind to share them and they're very good.

De-Vagrant In reply to missterkelsen [2014-06-06 05:59:27 +0000 UTC]
Thanks that might be pretty great actually!
Natasha Saville gave me some swish looking custom brushes but I still haven't figured out how to get them to work.
I think either the files got corrupted when I DL'd them or I'm doing something incorrectly when trying to add them to P-Shop.
I have tried many times, followed several tutorials on adding brushes...then gave up and went to do some work.
However yes I'd appreciate any links/shares that you recommend
