# About me

Japanese arts, especially woodblock prints from Edo period,
kitsuke-art of wearing of kimonos are my favourite things.
So it`s my inspitation in creation own willow world, full of simplicity and subtlety. My works are tribute for this amazing heritage of old Karyukai.
Enchanted by the Japanese Bijinga art, I use values of washi paper and I follow the old masterpieces in my paper compositions recreating the floating world, "UKIYO-E".
In my gallery I would like to present works cultivating
old designs based on the aesthetic category "IKI"-related to the concept of simplicity, lightness and ellegance.

WOW. I love your gallery so much! Your simplistic style is very evocative of the classic Japanese woodblock prints, and I'm totally in love with the way you're recreating it with cut paper. I might have to visit your Etsy shop!

I love to see another artist who loves kitsuke. Your dolls are lovely. It makes me want to try my hand at kimekomi again, but it is so hard to find those materials in the Midwest.

hello. Thank you. I`m fell inlove with japanese kimono and try to use layers to express emtions and movement. I `ve never do any real kimekomi only flat paper figurines inspired by this real dolls. But i love to do it. Did you try on ebay with materials?

novemberkris In reply to molligami [2011-08-07 20:41:41 +0000 UTC]

I interned at a kimekomi doll company in Saitama, called Tougyoku. But I have not tried eBay yet for materials. I spend so much money on craft and art supplies already! >_<
