There haven't been much cons in Sydney anymore and my friends wasn't too into the other Sci Fi and game cons hence I stopped going... I was glued to the Smash Artist table on Saturday and then ran around and no where to be found near the table on the Sunday because of Reika Sama and Maid Cafe and just basically fangirling all day.

I will be going to Japanese Matsuri this Saturday though - hopefully would see some familiar faces before the year ends!

lol I'm like opposite... I hardly go on fb... and only go on when summoned (since I didn't create the fb account in the first place >.> ).

lol I was there and not there ish (We went out for mini photoshoot and quite some spreeing on Sat and signatures queuing, maid cafe and panels for Sun)... you probably missed our table due to the amount of awesome artists there! We were on the side that is facing the grass with bright sunlights (among lots of different merch and plushies) and next to Ry-Spirit 's table. I think I didn't see where LaChuc was either and believe you would be there also?

Hope sales went great for you guys too!

Yes I checked the bleed proof paper for you. It's actually just Mont Marte (they're normally more economical alternative, I have used their watercolour pad before too)! The difference is really just the gsm. MM is actually thicker 80gsm (normal A4 paper thickness) which I like better than the eskersley one which is 70gsm. Although saying that the latter one I find better when blending colours - colour are not as absorbent I think so the copics probably last abit longer?

Ehh... I reckon I'll go for something thicker. I don't think I'll blend so much. Not with my 4 Copic marker haha.

I think normal paper at 80gsm is sufficient. I'll probably only go thicker if for watercolour/oil paiting etc.

Well if you're only looking for thickness of the paper you could consider other book/pads for different purpose. For MM (lol I'm starting to sound like their sales agent! ), they have the Watercolour book at 190gsm (I have used this before and it is a cold pressed - I think it's the type I'm using - textures for watercolour), but they also have sketchbook at 150gsm (doesn't have that texture). I haven't used their pad before (Normally A4/A3, but book is A5 size) but I think they would have non textured watercolour pads. From experience (although limited), normal 80gsm is definitely not for watercolour. lol It'll wrinkle up the paper (especially if you use too much water), which is why Watercolour paper have higher gsm. Again, don't rely too much on Eckersley, there are other places that have them for sale at a lower price.

Yeah unfortunately I'm not very social network friendly so I don't use them unless probably forced to.

Mont Marte is pretty good I guess. I like their stuff. Are most bleedproof like, oily/slippery? I'm not a big fan of that feel. I really like the textured surface of paper. 

So where do you suggest I buy? I need to by some watercolour too, specifically Sakura's 24 colour one. Seen it anywhere? I looked everywhere... But yeah, this instead of tubed stuff for now? They seem way more complicated haha.

I would say bleedproof paper is like only slightly smoother than normal paper on the drawing surface (I think normal paper feels dry/rough lol) and only the back side of it is oily/slippery (so ink doesn't go through). If I recall correctly, you could actually go feel the paper at Ekersley (I think they have it for sell per sheet too).

Other stores like Lincraft, Officeworks, Riot and fewer dollar stores too have art supplies. But it all comes down to a brand you would trust for quality. I got my MM bleedproof pad from Basement Books (I think it's called?) near Central station (The tunnel!) few years back (I don't colour enough lol).

I had abit of google on the brand Sakura (Sounds like Japanese brand)... not sure if I'm looking at the right thing (It comes up with the name Koi instead?) since I'm not an expert on watercolour... lol

Yeah BB, I pass it every day I go to uni. I'll check them too. They're good Imo, the prices are really sweet. 

Oh right, well, it's that one I think. Sakura Koi 24 colour one. It's n00bish and whatnot but I think it's a good start for me. (It's actually pretty sweet, my friend let me use hers).

lol Which Supanova, as they go around interstates!? I normally go to the one in Sydney, and this year is the only year that I'm going with ~hehalana to the Brisbane one!
