I'm a taxidermy lover myself. c: As long as it comes from responsible sources.
But yeah, it always fascinates me how nature designed things for perfect function.

Awww! I'm too. In some way. I have a few friends who do this at the amateur level. One of them wants to build the skeleton of a bird. (Haha, sorry for my bad english.)
Oh yes. I'm glad we think similar.

I have yet to find a real life friend that shares my interest. xD So far I've only found someone who "understands" my interest, but is too grossed out to hear about details, lol.
I'm still an amateur too. Few weeks ago I found a roadkill swallow bird, now I'm in the process of mummifying its wings and feet. The rest of its body I burried in a forest. Poor thing got hit in the middle of catching bugs, because its mouth was still full of them. :c

Seems like I communicate with too strange people! However, my parents or fellow students would not understand me. There is something curious in that we see beauty where others see something ugly.
Anyway I hope you'll find someone in real life.
Wow!
I have mixed feelings. "Do you have a photo?" and "Poor little bird, I hope it didn't suffer" :C
My friend's
BlackDeathman collection, for example:

(Sorry, I don't know how to insert here image. Pfft, noob.)

I hope the bird didn't suffer too. :c I did notice that its neck was broken when I checked it, though... the head could be turned around over °180 without any bone resistance (which always grosses me out but I had to know). So maybe it was quick, at least? It's also possible it flew against a building too, it was inside a city. I found it near the street.
Yea, it's always the sad part about taxidermy. The animal's death. No matter how it died, it makes me feel sad the same. But I try to treat the leftover body as respectfully as possible.
I can't show a photo of the swallow bird parts because the wings and feet still have to dry inside a box full of cornmeal for at least a month. I don't want to show photos of my taxidermy here anyway, sorry. xD There are plenty of touchy people on the internet.

I hope bird really died quickly. :C
In my city an active traffic (on Sunday I saw a dead end at half past three in the morning) and I often see dead animals on the roadside. I am sad that nothing can be do. Although in a few cases I've seen animals follow the rules of the road. So cute!
I like your attitude to this subject. Yes, I think exactly the same.
Hmmm, now I feel like an insensitive person. xD However, it's true.
By the way, DA should be private messages.

DeviantArt does have private messages! When you visit someone's profile, on top it says "Send a note". That's a private message.
