no it totally sucks actually. my friends all used to be into homestuck but left during the gigapause - and none of them were ever into fantrolls.

see mine is like. yeah. au where the canon trolls never existed so alternia has a different empress and stuff?? and the trolls play the game BUT the start of the story is like. half of the trolls are dead and in the dream bubbles [which exist somehow idk,,] and half are alive?? and its sort of more. about how they ended up this way and hOW they solve the problem/messy situation theyre in???

Mine's an AU as well.

For the trolls' session, Alternia never had the Canon trolls ((or maybe, but perhaps they existed in another timeline or year or whatever)).
And instead of the Peixes, it's ruled by the Vasili's ((Namazu is the Heir and The Maharani is the current ruler)), and the Vasili's happen to be emperors. Not empresses. owo
And his lusus isn't a Horrorterror, but a whale/dragon hybrid that would cause tsunami's if it flapped its fins, so Namazu has to go out and keep it calm at all times ((just like what Feferi does with her lusus)).
One thing that is similar to the Canon trolls is that Namazu still has a psychic connection with his lusus ((like Feferi does with hers)).

And the way they find SGRUB is... well... let's just say Namazu's moirail is a major fan of gaming. XD

see adalia is the one who finds the game in her fanadventure?? she knows one day shell have to become the empress or,, fight the empress to see if shell become the empress. she kinda knows shes not great at fighting and not a good leader, and shes not cruel like the current empress. so she dresses nicely and stuff as she views herself as just sort of. eyecandy til the next heir comes along. however, she finds a game called sgrub and decides to play it with her 6 best friends who she rps with online [and her moirail convinces her to let another person join]. her and 7 other trolls play, and as their world is destroyed adalia realises shes fucked up bad - especially once all her friends start dying.
