Yeah i left there too cant remember if it was before or after you, cant remember a whole lot about that course tbh And I just want some advice on the canon 500D... wondering if its any good? My olympus is like 5/6 years old now lol, and sometimes i feel it just doesnt give me quite the quality i was expecting, and the olympus lens range is pretty crap, and I want something that does video, was just looking at this offer and thought it seemed ok as i'd need atleast 2 lenses if i bought a new camera [link] whats your thoughts on this? Oh and I like your photography btw, good to see you're still doing it

Same as my nikon but i love it to much and cant afford a new one lol. yeah the olympus lens range was pretty shocking when i first started and hasnt really got any better. The canon from what ive seen is good, only thing i find with canon is the lenses are quite expensive but then you have tamron and sigma. To be honest its not a bad choice...my advice would be to go in and play with one and have a look at others that are around. Dont be persuaded at all by the staff, their not the ones going to be using it! But yeah you would need 2 lenses. I am trying out new things at the moment. seen some of your recent ones looks like your doing well! x

Decided on the 550D, just because its better specs and newer, went into my local jessops I told them i want either the 500 or the 550 which would you advise and stuff and didn't even get them out the cabinet to let me look at them, so I'm going to basingstoke at the weekend, go to that jessops, rather they have my money lol.
I've found it £60 cheaper on the internet, but im kinda impatient and want it this weekend lol. Hmm save £60 towards a new lens and wait for delivery or not
How willing are jessops to chuck in memory cards and stuff for free? As I think thats the only way i'd get it from there otherwise i'll save £60 I think.
I've taken some pics lately but I'm bored of the same locations all the time so need to go to new places, and hopefully with a new camera that will make me go out somewhere new. Know of anywhere lol? x

Sorry i didnt reply sooner! did you manage to get it? yeah im exactly the same but im limited to where i can go because i cant drive it sucks really. Depends on how far you want to go but theres a few places in weymouth that are nice i tend to find things by accident. x

Well nearly got the 600d but couldn't see the point in an extra £150 for a fold out screen, same sensor and everything so I got the 550d... just not from jessops, wouldn't even chuck in a memory card, filter, nothing... So I saved £50 and got it direct from canon off amazon lol. The £50 saved got me a couple sandisk 8gb extreme memory cards and a spare battery, so worked out for the best really. One of the guys in the shop got a bit lippy with me when I said I would get it from the internet instead, he was like oh well if camera stuff off the internet was any good we wouldn't be here, I just said maybe you were just here before internet shopping took off... The other employees just laughed at him and I said nice way to speak to someone who just came in to spend £630 in your shop.
So yeah, 550d will be here tuesday and already convinced myself to buy a Canon 50mm f1.8 lens before it turns up too, just been looking at a gallery of pics from that lens and it is awesome for portraits and stuff like that... and only £80? Bargain lol.
So yeah can't wait just need some decent locations. I dont mind driving far everyone once in a while for pics but sometimes after uni or something just in the evening I want local-ish places lol, might have to try out Weymouth soon though, never been there lol x
