Been trying to do some big projects with the computer, yeah. I should have popped back in sooner, I should have. It's... stupid. I don't know what else to say really, been a lot of trying to get things to work. 

Graphic Design, huh? Yeah, sounds like you. Exciting ventures, eh? How'd you do? What has school been like? It's not just graphic design, right, you had to get prerequisites out of the way? At least, that's the way it works here, for some reason. You know, cause Graphic Design students need to know things like physics and calculus, I guess. How has your first year on your own been? Well, don't worry about it. It'd be like that sometimes; There's periods of time where you're super busy and stuff and yeah, it happens.

Well, actually, here, all you need is your grade 12 college-level English, and also helps to have had some courses in medias and arts before hand (though it's totes optional)

Okay, why in the ever living heck would people need calculus and physics for a program in Graphic Design?!

Well, other than that, first year of college actually went pretty fast. Made new friends, tried new stuff, overall, it was pretty fun. The only two parts that I didn't like was being in a big city and living in the sketchy part of town. Hoping to rent a room closer to my college for the next school year, though.

I mean, it's college, it's what it is. On the plus side, I have a decent GPA score, so that's always a plus. And, huh, I managed not to die from starvation.

Yeah but that's hardly fair. Been trying to improve my craft, which is very very slow going, playing games and watching shows with my wife who had not had that luxury growing up, reading books on history and other things in the hopes of improving my big projects (though it is starting to look like I should just shit out a bunch of crappy ones than try to make one that is of excellent quality and only post one that is of actual decent quality.) Anyway, I am hoping to get on more frequently in the future...

Wow, I wish that's how it worked. For some reason, your high school courses aren't enough in most American colleges and unless you go to a specific college (art school, medical school, etc.) you have to take basic courses. Like, I was going to get an art degree or a business degree, and for some reason I was required to take four science courses? Well I mean, everyone was required to take four science courses. Pretty sure calculus and physics aren't required for what I was pursuing either. Hooray for wasting my own money and the money of tax payers. Hooray for the American Education System.

Fuck yeah, the city is a shitty place. Moving out to the country myself. City life is toxic, people are toxic, it's just all around not a good place to be. Sucks that is where the universities are, though. How has your friendships been going? You find art buddies, or are you hanging out with some different but complementary personalities?

Heck yeah, starvation and college basically go hand in hand. It is nice to hear that it isn't bringing you down.

I mean, nothing beats hands-on practice, ya know. I mean, there's always Skillshare that offers a variety of courses on plenty of subjects (although, you have to pay a monthly subscription, unfortunately)

Well, for colleges and universities in Canada, it depends on where you live; If you live in Quebec, it pretty much works the same way that in the United States. You go to Cegep first (it's called a college, but it's not college) and then you can go to Uni. While in the rest of Canada, you can either go to College, Uni, or College then Uni, or Uni then College. Basically, College is more hands-on and practical learning, and you also get internships on the job at the end of your program. University is more academic learning, though some University programs do have internships and hands-on learning as well. If you go into the medical field, though, it helps to go to college first, and then Uni. On the plus side, although I will have student debts at the end of my program, it's nothing compared to what most students have to pay in the United States, so, it'll be much easier to repay what I owe the provincial government.

I like the city, I just don't like living in it. I grew up in rural areas, so, that's all I really know. 

As for friends, well, I'm sitting in the front row of the class and I'm friends with everyone from the first to the second row. It's pretty chill. I mean, most people in my class are pretty chill. There's just a small percentage of them I don't like, but it's okay.

Well, actually, I gained a bit of weight while there. But that's because I was mostly sitting on my butt all day long and eating at the school cafeteria or the on-campus restaurants. (Poutines aren't exactly healthy, but they are pretty tasty) I probably should start cooking more and working out. Gotta keep in shape to stay healthy.

Yeah, don't get me started on colleges. Though, a lot of things in America can be more difficult due to reasons outside of just about everyone's control.

I get the idea, honestly. But the city isn't exactly a fun place, and a heck of a lot of people are real assholes out this way. Maybe it's cause I live in a huge city and not a small one. I can see how going from one area to another with a completely different culture can come with an adjustment period.

Well it's nice that you are able to make friends. At least there is no worries there.

Well, there's always the chance of that happening. As you grow, your metabolism starts to slow down. Of course that's not the only reason, that is just one of them. the city also is not as conducive a life style for keeping fit and healthy as in a rural area.
