I use MediBang Paint Pro, but I know some of my friends use FireAlpaca. Both (in my opinion) are pretty good programs and I think they are pretty easy to understand. If you`re not that comfortable doing digital art yet, my technique has always been to sketch out what I want and then tracing what I`ve sketched. If I messed up on some parts, I can fix it digitally later. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip! I've not heard of those programs. I'll be sure to give them a try when I'm not so busy!
I think my main issue is that I have no reliable method to scan my sketches (on paper) into digital format to be edited. There's so many grey patches that it makes it not worth it to clean up. But then, redrawing it digitally takes too much time.Β  Perhaps I need to dedicate time to doing my sketches on the computer first?

I never usually scan my pictures. I always end up just taking a photo of it even when the lighting isn`t very good. I guess you kind of have to have the patience for that sort of thing. I don`t have a tablet, so its much harder for me to sketch things on the computer, and not only that I`m not usually comfortable with trying all that digitally, but I have a feeling that you could definitely do the trick I mentioned all online. XP

Patience is indeed key. It sucks that whenever I'm in the right mindset, I'm nowhere near my computer haha.
I have tried base sketching, then tracing over it. It's so uncomfortable to not see the picture underneath my hand, so it leads to a lot of disproportioned body parts of characters I'm drawing. (-_-')
I'll keep trying though. Thanks for the help!

here's the best suggestion. Start with small little things first and learn the different brushes and tools. GIMP-2 is a free program as good as photoshop and it's totally free. then go to you-tube to find tons of tutorials that help you create and learn how. I hope this helps.

(Someone actually noticed!! )
Merry Christmas!!!
I do have Gimp2 and finally got a drawing tablet. It'll take a while to learn the program and the tablet itself, but then there's YouTube. Thanks so much for the comment since I completely forgot about checking YouTube for that kind of stuff. I guess if one man can build a house using YouTube tutorials, I can do this!

Believe me I know how it feels. I put up a few great images and yes some not too good either of course but hardly anyone notices. I get the most down feelings when I write some things that a few people say are simply beautiful and touching and yet only a tiny few ever read them and fewer still comment.

I never saw a time in our history when society is just FULL of people who's only concern is themselves.Β  I have made about 40,000 comments on other peoples work and try to support them but man it's hard to get anything back. And then people are so hostile and angry and in your face, if I say anything to them, they get snotty and mean spirited as usual and tell me that it's my fault to write and dare to have any expectation of anyone commenting. I guess it's fine when people like us comment on them, but if we dare to like to get a comment, it's us that are all wrong huh....
I can't figure this society out anymore as it's gone nuts in my way of thinking.

Well, with some people there's so many comments that they give up responding; or they're like me and are terrible at getting back. (Sorry!)

It's human nature to notice the bad stuff more than the good unfortunately. I would "like" more stuff on DeviantArt, it's just that I would rather not clog my favourite bar with them. I'll just keep it to promote my friend.

People are just awful in general, but that doesn't mean that every single person is. I've found that people who respond badly to harmless comments are the ones that are typically trying to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Mind you, most of them are young adults that don't understand that the world doesn't revolve around them.

And yes, the world is insane. It was a much nicer place right after WW2 since they were grateful for being alive.

But this is my whole point. We live in a world where all the youth are uneducated and think of no one at all except themselves and being entertained. Lets take myself as an example of only 75 items in my gallery and journals and yet about 28,000 views. Of those views I have made close to 40,000 comments making sure people knew I appreciated them and tried to say good things about anything they did as well. I see girls ESPECIALLYΒ  with a high number of page views (example is 1,000) and yet only 8 comments back to anyone. No matter what they do or create or look like....I just keep going and never comment at all as I don't need those kind of friends that simply take everything and give back nothing.
If people wish to be happier like everyone says they do then it all starts with giving your live helping others. That's what makes us feel good about ourselves more than anything else don't you think? My guess is that your so young you've never thought about this so maybe one day my point will make some sense to you.
Your point about noticing the bad over the good is very very correct and is what has kept human beings alive all these years too.
Your third point I too think is right on target and a something I agree with. Believe me the world sucks in so many ways I agree, but I never ever forget that no matter what, they're many many great and kind people in every city or country. Without them I think I would die myself.
I also think you made a great point about WWII and that generation that every one of us owe so much to for all they did for the world. You made some excellent points and a fine comment. Nothing but kindness to you.
