# About me
I recently graduated with my PhD from University of California at Berkeleyβs School of Information . From late 2007 to 2011, I conducted a research project on how people incorporate the web into their art and media-making activities and focused on deviantART. I finished most of the research by 2010 and then spent the next two years writing it up.A great deal of my research involved hanging out online, particularly on deviantART where there a lot of people doing a lot of different kinds of work. I also hung out in Artist Alleys and attended various devMeets.
Some of my work is documented here in my journals and a few of my submissions. You can also check out posts to my website (see link below).

Hello there, I saw you mentioned in this article [link] and find it fascinating that you've devoted your graduate research to deviantArt and social networking in general. I'm not sure that you're still active on here, but I'm going to give you a +watch anyway. I myself am thinking of devoting part of my academic work to the study of fandom, particularly as it is spread and encouraged through the internet.

Thank you for the nice comment. I am not as active these days as I have been trying to stay really disciplined about writing. But I hope to post more often as I have more completed sections of writing to get out to the site.
