raven> all I said was that (and this my sound harsh but I am being honest) I didnt feel the particular piece of work was deserving of a DD because to me it just didnt look of a high enough standard compared with previous DD's - including her own. I felt and still do feel that alot of people just jumped in, took a quick look and commented without taking the time to stop and analise the work. What I did not do was critacise zzaga personally or badmouth the rest of her work. I even said that the piece in question was good, but just didnt feel it was "up there" if you can see where im going.

I also didnt point the finger at every single person as being a butt kisser - looking back now i know that my choice of words was very blunt and apolagise but I still stand by the point I was making - It just annoys me when people dont think about whats being displayed infront of them and just accept it as good, without questioning it, and overlook other peoples work in the process.

Its obvious that you care alot about zzaga - whcih I admire - and you know her personally but, to put it simply I dont need to know her in order to comment on her work. And at that it was one comment about one piece of work- I was not refering to her work as a whole- you talk about how her work reaches out to people because of the kind of media and marks shes uses to convey her mood and how I dont understand. I do understand and I do relate. The piece in question wasnt exactly very expressive, it was light hearted and humours I believe.

Anyway this debate could go on for an age and neither of us would get any happier about it. Willing to agree to disagree and leave it at that?

zzaga> i dont believe that every single person who comments is simply kissing up, but you do have a reputation (one which im not questioning) and people do accept art as being good on the reputation of the artist - again im not saying this is true of everyone - coming from where I do it just really gets to me when people just go with the crowd without asking why or taking a step back to think about things.

Saga is a dear friend of mine, If I don't like
something she does...I flat out tell her...

However I relate to most of her work and so do alot
of other people...

Saga speaks with her scratches she calls them, I call
those scratchs ART...

You don't get it'... her soul speaks to many people
who are hurting....I find it highly inappropriate
to call people she touches Asskissers...

I don't talk behind peoples back, I'll take responcability
for anything I write...Its public knowledge...

If I didn't mean it I wouldn't write it~~~

Its not even personal, constructive critasism is
a good thing...Dissing an artists work or the
artist is abusive and I know Saga, shes upset
because shes probably felling(I don't Know I havn't
talked to hertoday) that you took a shot at peopkle who care about her...I don't know, but its a pretty
good guess ....

I DO NOT SPEAK FOR SAGA...THESE ARE MY OPINIONS
AND REPRESENT NO ONE ELSE....

when I started quoting numbers,

Saga just happens to be a very
kind and sensitive person...
She's just flat out nice...

She writes with her heart...
that's what makes it so good...
If it's not real to her,
she doesn't draw it...

I want you to think about something
for a minute...

If you know Saga well enough
to leave a comment like that,
then you know she's having
a real tough time right now...

That would mean, if her pictures represent
how she feels right now,
I don't think she needs
to be put down, she or anybody else
needs to be put down because
they're sad, and other people
can relate to it...Saga's been at DA
about 4 months, I think...and she's
worked hard to get where she's at...

That's a lot of pain to go through
and it is sad that so many people can relate...

The bottom line is you have a right to your opinion,
and I have a right to mine...
If you're going to leave constructive criticism,
make sure it comes out right...
I don't feel anyone has the right
to hurt another person...

If you got hurt over my comments,
for that I'm sorry...but I meant
what I said...

If you had a more positive attitude,
I think you'd find your experiences at DA
more pleasurable...you don't have to kiss ass
for people to like you...

For example, your anime work is incredible...
and had you looked for the good in other
people's work, you'd find other people
doing that with you...It's sad nobody
sees it...

I don't want to fight, either,
I'm a writer not an artist...
I dont' want to be popular...
it takes forever to write all those notes back...:d

We're a community, we need to work together...
I just got offended...

Must be sad living with toughs like that. Do you think everyone that comments on you work are "buttkissers" or just out to "accept your art without any real toughts" to?

I do how ever think that peopel have a brain to think wiht and a the sens to descide what they do and don't like.
