Oh hey, since we've been talking about cheathing, take a look at this "drawing" [link] then at the reference, if you switch back and forth it becomes apparent that it's only a photomanipulation - as all the other drawings in their gallery. But very good photomanipulations, indeed. Stupid.

Hey! Yeah.. a commission and another Josh Holloway drawing. But since I have about six exams this week I really don't have time to draw at the moment ^^

Yeah, I understand, I have a lot of work to do at college too :\ oh well. What are you studying in school?

That's life, right? I'm studying psychology. First semester^^ What about you?

I'm majoring in graphic design/visual communications with a minor in psychology and sociology. Do you have any self portraits up in your gallery? I find it most difficult to draw myself opposed to drawing other people.

wow, good for you, that sounds great! Yeah, the three blue oil paintings.^^

haha yeah thanks! The compositions on your self portraits are great. I love the kate moss piece that you did - how her face and hair take up the entire paper, leaving no negative space. You should think about doing a self portrait of yourself like that! So have you ever studied art or are you self-taught?

Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-08 16:36:16 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I might some day.^^ Several people have been asking for a self portrait. However, I don't really feel like looking at my own face for several hours, haha. Nah, I'm self-taught. Except I've taken a nude drawing course for about half a year.

haha I know what you mean. Self portraits are a pain. Well you are very good for being self-taught. I just started getting back into drawing and sketching. I haven't done much of it for a few years now so I'm kind of rusty :\ Also, when I did draw and paint I never really focused on human figures or people's faces so I'm sort of teaching myself now. Just a question but what time is it where you are?

Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-08 17:08:47 +0000 UTC]
yep, defenately. well, I think the problem about being self-taught is that you develop your own style that's hard to change. And I think that sucks, I'd love to be able to handle a lot of different styles. After having focused on just one style for a long time it's such hard work to do something else and be good at it too.
On the other hand, teaching yourself is a great way to really get to know a technique because it takes such a long time to figure out how to do it right^^
Oh, it's 6 pm.

Yeah, I agree. I do like when people have their own personal styles sometimes though. It adds a uniqueness to it. Oh cool, it's 12:18 PM here. In the states NY to be exact. Are you on DA a lot?
π: 0 β©: 1
Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-08 17:53:56 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, totally! Oh, so you have almost your whole day still ahead of you. Cool, NY, who doesn't wanna be living there...
I'm on DA at least once a day. And when I'm working on the computer I'm constantly signed in. Since I'm not showing my drawings to a lot of people I know, DA is kinda my source of feedback and positive reinforcement, haha. You haven't uploaded anything yourself, I see?

rampntlion In reply to Anna-Mariaa [2010-02-08 18:14:13 +0000 UTC]
No I still have yet to upload my own stuff. I joined a long time ago and then stopped visiting the site but the past few months I've gotten into visiting DA regularly. In the beginning I was worried about people taking my stuff and calling it theirs but I guess that doesn't happen much anymore which is good. I think I'm going to upload my work when I go back home [all of my art is at home, not with me at college].

Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-08 18:33:43 +0000 UTC]
You defenately should! Well, that actually happens quite regularly. There are people who manipulate photos and upload them in the drawing category. Or they steal drawings and declare them as their own. stupidity takes many forms. ^^. But there's a reporting system that works more or less. Just always put your signature and maybe a watermark!

rampntlion In reply to Anna-Mariaa [2010-02-08 20:05:12 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I think I'll just put a huge watermark on my stuff lol. Good suggestion though. Have you had an incident with anyone claiming your work as theirs?
π: 0 β©: 1
Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-08 20:12:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, some people get annoyed by the wathermarks but security comes first^^. No, I haven't, fortunatelly! Eveyone has been asking for permission to use my works very politely. But I've reported about five people so far. And the DA members are very supportive, too, stolen art usually doesn't stay online for long.

rampntlion In reply to Anna-Mariaa [2010-02-09 15:24:51 +0000 UTC]
Well it's good to know that there are some ways to prevent the stealing of art. So you're from Switzerland, yeah? Have you ventured out of the country much?
π: 0 β©: 1
Anna-Mariaa In reply to rampntlion [2010-02-09 19:43:41 +0000 UTC]
yeah, totally. I am indeed from switzerland. lucerne to be more specific. I guess, I've been to many countries in europe, twice to the US and once to Canada. What about you? Have you ever done one of those Europe trips? I hear they're very popular in the US^^

Well that's cool. What were you in the states for? Haha, no I've never done a full eurotrip but I'd like to. I have been to Scotland though. It was beautiful over there. There are so many places that I'd like to visit, I've just got to figure out a way to go.
