yeah, i rather like the Ron icon too. Had my friend make it for me. For the longest time I had a Vincent Valentine icon, then i changed to Salamando from Secret of Mana. Then to Shade from secret of mana. always ended up going back to Vincent. But This Ron icon was just so catchy, i've had it for over a month now. XD
May I ask what kinds of art you are interested in?

Interested in as in what I do personally or what I enjoy seeing?
I write. That's kind of my thing. I'm a writer, and I've been developing a novel for about four years now and just got it down to the final version, so now I can begin writing, except I have writer's block. My theory is that I need to mature for my writing skills to mature.
I draw. Like, sketch. On any and everything. I sketch all the dang time. Usually it's characters from my story. But I'm trying to branch out and learn new things. So most of it is messy and lopsided because I'm a lefty but I truly enjoy it.
I write when I can't draw and draw when I can't write.
But if you meant what art I like to see, (sorry for the previous two paragraphs) I am fascinated by animation and wish to learn how to do it for myself one day. I also am becoming increasingly interested in digital painting because I just started realizing I do understand the concept of blending colors and such. Because painting in real life is not an option. I am not gifted with such dexterity. But I'm constantly amazed by [link] 's art, but my ultimate artistic hero is [link] . I can't even begin to tell you how much she has inspired me with her work.
And may I inquire of your artistic interests?

I was more interested in what you like doing, but Its also interesting to hear what you like to see too. ^^ I'm a writer as well. I've currently been working on a story for about 5 years. The original idea i came up with in middle school, but i never expanded on it till high school. And i've written several hundred pages by hand front and back. But i've never typed them up, and it was so long ago that i wrote it all, there is much that needs changing now that i've matured, and gotten better at writing.
Other then that, I really enjoy drawing. I've been drawing since i was 2 or 3 years old. It's been my favorite pass time and hobby. I'm also a bit of a gamer, though I don't play a lot of games lately, if any at all, i used to, and i still love watching other people play the games, and sometimes giving it a try myself.
I'm also a HUGE final fantasy fan, and i own almost all the games. but secretly i've only beaten final fantasy 1. So you'll prolly see a lot of video game art in my gallery.
Other then drawing, I also sculpt with clay, when i can actually afford clay. And i've sculpted with a bit of plaster, but that stuff is messy, and i don't like it very much.
And other then that, i've tried my hand at a bit of poetry. And everyone swears i'm good, but I do not think so. There is one guy I know, he is very good poet. His vocabulary is so expansive. Amazing poet. Reading his work inspires me to write a bit of my own.
But I do not dabble in digital art very much. I liek it, and i think it is pretty, but i cannot afford it. Too expensive. You have to have a good computer, and then buy the tablet and then buy the good programs. And it is too technical for me. I get lost when using photoshop, so many ways i mess up my work. I stick with Traditional work. It is so much easier to use my pencil, I know all its functions. I trust my hand, the paper and the pencil. So traditional is my medium.
Lately i've been steeping out of my boundaries, and trying to draw commissions, its tough. I've never drawn for money before. So this is new. Its interesting all the things people wish for me to draw. So far though, I've gotten a LOT of pony requests. LOL So it seems to eb the popular thing of late.

Originally I had an idea in my freshman year of high school and started writing. Writer's block didn't exist because I had no idea what a Mary Sue was so it was like anything goes. Then I learned that you had to have character flaws and development and a real plot and all this stuff and...well, it got more complicated. That story is now under the "So Old It's Embarrassing" file on my laptop, Harrold. But that was my first step. I took elements from that story and wrote another one, almost as bad as the first, kept a few more elements and kept going until I have the characters I have today. It's been a long, complicated journey.
Oh my gosh. Gaming. I suck at it. Big time. My kind-of-ex-best-friend tried to get me into it and I failed miserably. And I got so frustrated he was just like "Yeahh...We can stop now." The only games I've ever been good at and actually enjoyed was the ancient version of Mario on my family's Nintendo 64 and Fusion Fall, created by Cartoon Network. I'm a cartoon freak. Although I am very intrigued by the Kingdom Hearts story. I would like to try that some day.
I think I'm fairly good at poetry, mainly because I understand the basics of writing more than the average person. I'm totally not bragging, it's just how it is. Like some people understand math concepts I don't have the brain capacity to fathom. It's how we are. Anyways, my point is, poetry can get complicated with all the symbolism and reading-between-the-lines stuff, but it's actually fun to dabble in if you don't take it too seriously.
Pencil will always be my favorite thing to draw with, I believe, but digital art is so...clean? The undo button is my best friend. I used to do digital so much I would draw with a pencil and find myself reaching for Ctrl-Z when I made a mistake. And as for the pricing, the only expensive thing was my tablet. Almost 200 dollars and hard to get used to, but Harrold (my laptop) is a dinosaur in every sense of the world. Weighs a ton, slow as a snail, and containing more personality than some people I know. But like I said, uber hard to get used to. I basically scrawled my name all over Photoshop (also complicated) for the first few months.
I am AWFUL with commissions. Actually, more like requests. Just some friends wanting to know if I can draw this or that. But I'm SOOO behind. I am the worst procrastinator in LIFE. It's sad, really.
And frankly, I don't get the pony thing. Lol

i had no idea what a mary sue was when i first started writing, i just sort of naturally gave my characters, character flaws. One of my main characters, she has a short temper and attitude problems. The guy she falls in love with is an ego maniac, he's practically in love with himself, and before he met her, he'd sleep with practically any girl he thought was good looking.
One of my other characters is a cross between a sophisticated gentleman, an older brother, and a over the top gay friend. But he harbors a dark past filled with abuse. Then I have another character who's a huggy bear sort of a guy, he's also extremely tall and aspires to be a baker, his current job requires him to kill old people and children.
Lastly there's the little brother from hell. He's a nasty little punk who's greatest joy is watchign things die and squirm. He also revels in causing mischief, and makes life difficult for all my other characters.
All the characters i describes are from my own story i've been writing. I've put a lot of work into designing each of the characters.
Anyway, Gaming is not for everyone, I know. I haven't played games as much as i used to, but i still love 'em. Kingdom hearts if pretty great, but its also a cross between final fantasy and disney, and i've played a lot of the games, and really its like a crossover fanfiction with OCs, turned into a video game. XD
Poetry is great, and i always enjoy reading it. Writing it is fun, but i can only write it when the spirit moves me. If i force myself to write it then its just crap.
It's great that you can use digital. I envy people who are good with it. Makes me wish sometimes that i wasn't bound to pencil and paper, but its my forte.
As far as commissions go, I thought they were gonna be hard, cause i'm a major procrastinator too. But for some reason i can do commissions, i guess its the incentive that i'm making money the motivates me to draw them.

It took a rather brutal but informative comment on FanFiction.net for me to realize how important character flaws were.
But here lately, I'm focused less on making sure SOMETHING is wrong and making my characters more like...people. People aren't set in stone, they can like something one day and hate it the next. They can go out on a whim and do something totally out of character just because they feel like it. I'm hoping to be able to capture that human spirit without making my character seem like she is in everything.
Of course, she does have flaws. She was born to cause a ripple effect in the world somehow, and will most likely die doing it, as history shows. So she has to fight to live, and fight to make sure her family isn't caught up in it with her. Her best friend/ex/old arch nemesis/used to be hooked on crack, pot, and alcohol, is new to the story, but he's like the Professor Snape of my story, character development wise.
Yeah, I wasn't making money for it. Maybe that's why. I'm motivated by money, food, and people who are even lazier than me.

Yeah, its trying to capture human nature that is hardest i've noticed. Humans are many things, and personalities are never carved in stone.
Take Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible for example. Ron is pretty self absorbed, and he's also easy going, and a clutz. Kim always tells Ron to be himself, and stop trying to be what he thinks everyone else wants him to be. But if you stop and look at Ron, its part of his character to go over the top, and take things too far. Always always, he's get money, or a new look, or fame, and he takes it too far and winds up screwing everything up. And you think, "Why can't Ron just be Ron, instead of trying to be something he's not" But blowing things out of proportion actually has Ron's personality all over it. Ron is being himself.
