hey scottica. you know you can put that in your journal, it'd be a lot more permanent (after a certain number of posts, "thoughts" eventually drop off the bottom).

I'm scottica. I've never taken a photography class, never studied it in any way. I am not doing this for money, although if a job were to be offered to me, I'd take it. I have always enjoyed taking pictures of things, but film was always expensive, and never seemed to look very good anyways. The digitial camera changed the way I felt about photography. Not only do you have the ability to instantly remove pictures you feel do not live up to standard, you can dump them into your laptop, wherever you may be.

I don't know anything about the photography community, although I'm sure it's purists would say this is "cheating" or something to that nature. It does not matter to me. I enjoy it nonetheless, and other people do as well. I ask these photography purists to critique my lighting, angles, subjects etc. and not my equipment and advanced technology. I am openminded; approach me with the same attitude.

I hope you enjoy my photography. Soon I will be taking pictures of the desert in the surrounding areas of Tucson, especially Pima Canyon (if I can hike that far...). I will also photograph downtown Tucson.
