thanks for making these fabulous pictures Song of Ice and Fire. I especially like the characters on parchment. A greeting and I hope to continue receiving your drawings on the saga.

Hey Miss. Congrats on your work. You got great creativity and your character designs for ASOIAF are pretty cool.
You do very good line work, but you should try more stuff while coloring, it will do tons for your art and it will make you evolve. Try different lights, settings, color pallettes. And you'll see the results immediately.
Dunno if the critique is invited, but since i like your work so much, it's only natural i want to see your stuff get better and better!
Keep at it.

I had been seeing your kickass asoiaf fanart for awhile, but I realized just now that I wasn't watching you! of course, I just fixed that

Oh, you're more than welcome. It should be actually me thanking you since there's really not a lot of good ASOIAF artwork around. I actually just took a quick look at your gallery but plan to visit longer later on.
All those armour details are really impressive, do you use some specific references?

serclegane In reply to maudt [2008-07-30 15:05:58 +0000 UTC]
You mean, besides the descriptions in the books? No, just my imagination and some very, very vague ideas how a medieval armour should look. It's probably not historical accurate at all, but... oh well
π: 0 β©: 1
maudt In reply to serclegane [2008-07-30 16:11:31 +0000 UTC]
Aye, besides the book. I've been trying to do a little research on medieval armour and such but it's hard to decide which century would fit most (not to mention geographical diversion). But that's fantasy after all, as long as it looks good it works. And your work does look good, so keep it up
π: 0 β©: 1
serclegane In reply to maudt [2008-07-30 16:56:24 +0000 UTC]
Heh
The most "research" I have ever done about it is to google a "knight" or "medieval armour" or something like that and take a look at some of the pictures, just for general ideas.
But mainly I go for my imagination, especially about the details...
For example, last night, while I was trying to fall asleep, I finally figured a way to do the kraken helm of Victarion Greyjoy

maudt In reply to serclegane [2008-08-01 08:13:53 +0000 UTC]
Hm, I saw a pretty nice kraken helm on some ASOIAF fanart (but I can't recall where).
Any chances of you drawing the Blackfish in the nearest future?

I already have a scrap of him here, but it's a couple of years old - back then I didn't use digital colouring, it was all on hand (except the parchment bacground, of course). Take a look at it, if you like - [link]

alciha [2008-07-07 00:13:51 +0000 UTC]
Glad to have you updating again, man, because your art is a nice change of pace from everyone always drawing jon and dany.
π: 0 β©: 1
serclegane In reply to alciha [2008-07-07 08:33:11 +0000 UTC]
I totally hear ya, alciha and thanks.
Still, one day I'll have to put Jon and Dany, and all the rest of the popular characters here as well. Not that it bothers me - I've already put Jaime here and he's as popular as they get - but I have found it really nice and even satisfying to draw characters that either no one else draws, or very few people seem to bother with them.

Your one hell of an artist any chance that were going to see Gregor and Sandor colored in with those budding new color skills of yours? Or how about characters like Jaime Lannister, Syrio Forel, Garlan Tyrell, and Arthur Dayne. Bottom line is Ill be just as happy as you keep making asoiaf characters!

serclegane In reply to atlas689 [2008-07-06 15:20:15 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for the kind words... and errr... sorry about the delay... Been busy and everything, didn't have time to come here for awhile...
As for your questions, well, as you can see I've done Jaime and Gregor. The others will probably wait, but hey - since I want to eventually draw all or at least most of the characters, you can bet that you will see them sooner or later.

Absolutely.
The only bad thing about the books is how slooooooooow GRRM writes them

Eh, dunno about that... He looks healthy to me.
And he is not THAT old. He's only 59 years old. Sure, he's not young, but he has many years ahead, I'm sure.
But overall - yeah, it would be very unpleasant.

I know, it's just nobody could possibly finish this books except him. Who's your favorite?
π: 0 β©: 1
serclegane In reply to Sir-Heartsalot [2008-01-14 21:10:42 +0000 UTC]
Favorite what? Character?
Sandor Clegane, but I like his brother Gregor almost as much, along with The Kingslayer.
If you ask about favorite author, it's GRRM.

Oh haha, well I meant character yeah. I'm all about the Cleganes.

serclegane In reply to Sir-Heartsalot [2008-01-14 21:25:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, they are the ultimate definition of cool charatcers. So ruthless and brutal...
But I like the bad guys in ASoIaF - never was very fond of the Starks, for example.

Sir-Heartsalot In reply to serclegane [2008-01-14 21:26:49 +0000 UTC]
Well, I liked Eddard, and I like Sansa and Arya. So other than the Cleganes who's your favorite villain?

serclegane In reply to Sir-Heartsalot [2008-01-14 21:33:44 +0000 UTC]
LORD TYWIN LANNISTER.
And The Crow's Eye, but we'll have to wait and see how he can handle things.

Sir-Heartsalot In reply to serclegane [2008-01-14 21:35:16 +0000 UTC]
Really? I'm all about Roose Bolton and his son, but yeah the Crow's Eye he's bdass

serclegane In reply to Sir-Heartsalot [2008-01-14 21:40:54 +0000 UTC]
Ya, Roose is a cold bastard (I mean it as a compliment). I always loved the way he killed Robb Stark at The Red Wedding...

Great gallery! I was wondering if you'd like to join ~winterfell which is a club for ASOIAF fans. You can submit your pieces to the gallery or just watch for others' work and join in the discussions.

serclegane In reply to winterfell [2007-08-28 22:47:42 +0000 UTC]
First, sorry about the delay of my answer, but in the last months I was preoccupied with all kinds of tasks and had no time to come here, post drawings and all that funny stuff.
Now I've plenty of free time and I'd love to join your club.
Second, I've made a good drawing of another ASOIAF character - none other, but the noble and honorable Ned Stark.
I'll put it in the gallery tonight and in the next couple of days it will be followed by second version of The Hound, Euron Greyjoy and Jon Snow (along with Ghost, of course).

Looking forward to seeing it! If you ever want a drawing in the gallery just drop the club a note, else just stop by whenever you can!

Now, I know it sounds crazy, but it seems I can't upload it....
When I try to choose a category, it sends me back in the beginning of the whole process.... Any ideas how to get the job done? Never had such problems before, but then again, I was gone for a long time and something must have changed...
