I just practice alot. Edge loop modelling is quite easy once you get the idea.

Of course working on the materials (SSS for instance) is also very important.

Hey would you by any chance still have the .blend file for that adorable little octopus you made? I've made him before by following the tutorial but would like to check your material settings if possible... I like the glass look you achieved with YafRay.

Yes I have it, but for some strange reason, it renders differently now with the current version of Blender and Yafray...
