You do know that's 0.01USD right?
To boot all I have to do is generally give others llamas in order to get them back.

S'actually pretty badass. You don't have to go to everyone's page and click through menus to give llamas.
Some people don't use the button and come to your page anyways so if you're looking for exposure or just to make friends it's a pretty sweet deal.

As for trying to cheat artists for free art??? You'd honestly probably have better luck asking people if they are open for requests. Way more honest and no one gets cheated.

Make sure to check the comment section on the group's profile page. People open up requests and advertise there a lot (even when they shouldn't).
If groups aren't your thing check the forums here forum.deviantart.com/community… People post subjects with the words "doing requests", "free requests" or "free art" all the time.

If you need points and don't have any money- there's pretty awesome groups that give points for things you can pretty much do every day anyway.

And to get you started- if you go to your user page and click your llama- you'll wind  up on this page mike-the-dabbler.deviantart.co…
If you look to the right of the page- people are actually requesting llamas every now and then in that spot for points. You only get a single point, though- so check back when you remember.

Use llamas for a tip (if you're wanting to use it as some form of payment) to show your appreciation- not payment. Minimum wage is higher than a few bucks. Just because it's "art" doesn't mean it's not a job. It doesn't mean people aren't trying to make a living off of it. 'Specially when they can't do anything else for money at the time or they use it to help ends meet.

I guess in a way it just makes deviantArt a bit more like a game after a while. Bit more exciting.
