I print on Kodak Professional Digital Paper, Lustre finish. I'm glad you know Rosie too! She's nice. Are you taking photography classes at WCC this semester?

Hello! I actually didn't go to and haven't gone to any college for photography; the only two photography classes I've ever taken were in highschool for traditional analog photography in the darkroom. But I am currently attending WCC for graphic design, and I finished my first year there. So I can tell you about some graphic design courses instead if you wish! However, I do have a number of friends who have been through the photography program at WCC and they've enjoyed it. It sounds like it's more focused on commercial photography services rather than creating fine art photography, so they have some really cool studio environments, like what you would use for product shots or professional studio portraits. It does sound pretty intensive and time-involved, but I think that's true for any creative field, and it's also a community college so they go at a faster pace than universities (or at least compared to my university times; universities are also intensive, but they feel more "spread out" because you're usually there for longer). 

I hope that was at least of some help to you! Sorry I couldn't tell you more...but I'm really happy you like my recent apple photo! I think it's one of my personal bests and it has a lot of personal meaning, so I'm really happy that people seem to have been enjoying it! Also, if you're in town at that time, you should come say hello at the art fair in July! It'd be cool to meet in person too. The apple photo won't be at that fair though; I'm thinking of "debuting" it in physical form at my Chicago show. My girlfriend is actually transferring from College for Creative Studies for graphic design to WCC next semester (she just finished her first year too) because of the exorbitant prices at CCS. I'd love to hear more about the graphic design courses. And it'd be cool to meet you at your art fair exhibit.

Yeah I can see CCS being a little expensive :/  But WCC has a good graphic design program too. Similar to the photography program, they're also focused on commercial practices and have a practical approach geared toward getting students jobs upon/close after graduation. And they're also mindful of what's going on in the real world, not just the school world, so they make sure that graphic design students learn at least some webcoding. If your girlfriend has already finished a year at CCS, maybe she'll be able to bypass some of the intro courses, which is most of the first semester. I'm not sure the overlap of the two programs, but there are two required webcoding courses (I think; they've been changing around some of the program tracks) and some graphic design students have struggles with that, though that's not always the case. Another thing, if she has the credits and can find a way to transfer some to take care of at least some of the general education stuff, I think it'll be helpful because then she can focus her time and energy on the required GD courses and make them portfolio-ready. I'm entering the last year of the program and my adviser implied that one of the last courses is taking previous projects and refining them for portfolios that you can submit to employers. 

I feel like I have more I could say about the program, but it might be better for you if you guys had specific questions -- I feel kind of scattered  It'd be cool to mee you at the art fair too; your girlfriend can come and we can talk more then! Also there are 2 other photographers from WCC in the shared art fair booth and I think one of them just finished the photo program while the other (may?) still be in it, so you can talk to them about your WCC photography questions as well.
