Frustrated! I destroyed my laptop's hard drive with a device intented to hook it up to my desktop's usb port. All my writing and artwork now gone. :sigh:

I am on the other hand, ignoring my laptop and using the desktop happily. Nothing much changed much though, except more class assignments and planning on random little things.

I do not know, but I surmise it did something to the circuit board on the hard drive, over powered it or crossed wires into it. The disks are still good but I do not have the Rubles to go to data rescue. So I rebuild again like the people of Stalingrad. :smirks: Glad life is good for you. Sorry to hear about your knee! I have a bad one to, I can relate. I have rebuilt my laptop and it is back functioning, I have most of my stuff from CDs so it is only 1/3 that was lost. A friend had some of my music so that was a blessing!

That's not too bad. At least you got some cds. Imagine having some files gone because it was formatted. I was told I was silly a few months ago because I wanted to reformatted my laptop and then realised my cd drive was broken - therefore my laptop was half-formatted and thoroughly not working. Had to change the drive and the guys from the shop said we may have to change laptop since it is broken. It is not, I assure you, but a week or so later, I got a desktop which now am using.

lol replacing the cd drive or getting the new desktop? I found it is more easier for me to work with a desk than sitting before the tv with screen. I get distracted easily. At least here,with the desktop, I am looking at the screen and looking at the books or notes or wander around the net for inspiration.

Russia is Russia. As for computer, CD is more pain because you have to remember what to rebuild, power supplies are just plug and play.

As for Russia I think with Mr Obama is more socialist and more scary than Kruschev, but since their Democrat party caused the financial mess it effects us all. I hope Mr McCain wins, we need a good adversary who likes to cut spending!

Yeah - Polish phrase words - I am picking it up really slowly - and sometimes mispronounce it - but I can say "Hello, how are you?" and "Good day/morning" and "I love you" and "I love ice cream". Things like that.
