I decided against the iDEA scholarship, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do computer science at melbourne uni instead. Dunno if that really is what I wanna do, but I guess I'll see next year...
How about you, are you going to go to iDEA or you gonna stick with the course you were already in (at RMIT or something wasn't it?)

i did exactly the same thing, sitting there watching yours thinking "damn, I hope I'm not up against this one"!
i spoke to the guy from i.d.e.a and he said its roughly 10 grand a year, so include the next couple of years, its still gunna cost heaps!
i go to monash berwick, and do multimedia. its really awesome, the best course ever! uni is so much fun! its great doing something you want to do.

Yeah, 25 grand for a course is still more than I'd be paying with hecs
I missed the open day for monash, partly cos the courses I was interested in were all the way out in berwick
I had kinda decided on doing computer science at melbourne or software engineering at swinburne, cos I don't think I'd be good when forced to create something, I'd rather do my own thing in my own time... Which is why I was going to go for the more technical degree, but now I'm not so sure...

lol thanks for the compliment, but I think this year has been a good example of why I should go technical. In studio arts, I'm allowed to do whatever I want, whenever I want. This has seen me doing animations, photography, 3d stills and even vector pieces.
But in Vis Comm & Design, we are restricted to doing a product in the first semester (with a full folio of developmental work), and then advertising a service in the second semester. In this we've had a lot less freedom, and have been forced to do heaps of work on the one thing. I dare say this would be closer to a real world job situation than studio arts, and I'm probably in the bottom five or ten of people doing it at my school 
That was a long explanation but it was probably as much for my benefit as yours, so yeah
