well it's papercraft (yeah just that) and i think it doesnt require much skill, just some passion, patience and delicacy

I've done a few paperpokes but the problem with mine is the white edges of the paper show. I've read that you can color the edges with a marker that resemble the color on the piece, is that what you do or is there another way to get around this problem?

Markers' colors and tones don't match and blend well with paper,so you have to be really patient and careful when gluing the pieces together (overlapping the edges doesn't hurt). if you're on PC (cuz I have a Mac) you can use Pepakura reader to add a colored border around the pieces (Select "Overflow Paint"
in the "View")
