You're 37/100 Random Deviants I'm going through! Your gallery is very cool. Probably the most "artsy" I've been to so far in this random trek through DA. You've got real talent!

Thank you for your favourite, I like your intricate hatched patterns and it seemed you liked my drawing in the same vein too (I will put others of the same style soon, so stay tuned!)
I praise your drawings though, because you seem to start from scratch, do you?
I think I would always need a basis when I draw, like reality or a photo, or a film playing before me at the cinema or something...
Your beautiful drawings also reminded me of some Russian artworks from animated cartoons or illustrated faery tales from the folklore... I respect your creations. Have a good day!

I couldn't be more honored to hear that my work reminds you of Russian animation. You have no idea how much I love and respect it. There is one famous piece I saw that moved me beyond anything imaginable...the one about the war with the little boy in the snow with the apple. Absolutely mind blowing but I forgot what it was called. I think I have to rent those DVD's again very soon...or buy them on ebay...i've been really exited about my new paypal account. I like your drawing Arnaoutchot because of the way the trailer separates itself from the background. It looks so real somehow and I love when people can do that. The proportion is also photographic/cinematic while at the same time seeming very much drawn from life. It's strange that you mention that because does show up in this piece.

Hello
Thank you for replying, it seems people's commentaries about my works, or commentaries I post about people's works are more and more personal and deep, which is something that I appreciate enormously coming from a website like DA which at first sight doesn't look like a website to share deep thoughts and feelings (I just replied to someone's comment about the last painting I've posted, "Facemudge", which was a very moving comment because the painting made this user think about his panic disorders and it moved me that he brought it up compelled by something I painted).
I encourage you to try to find the name of the Russian films you have seen through IMDB.com for example, I have written comments and reviews there about Russian animation (as "fredducker" but shhh! I'm anonymous here, haha). It might have been Youri Norstein, or the ma who does oil painting animation like the Caw and the Old Man and the Sea, absolutely marvellous short films.
I've recently commented at IMDB on Drugaya Storona (I think i'm the only person to ever have commented on it, though!), a magnificent short film about two earthworms, which is the one your short fim is reminding me about. I have it on tape, and I might be able to share it, but it would require me to shoot it with a digital camera and all... well, why not after all.
And I agree Paypal's fun but dangerous, haha.
Thanks for your comments, and I hope we stay tuned through the message board system... bye!
