Torstan, what DPI do you typically work in for print commisions? 300, or higher? How big are the maps you do, typically?

Really awesome pieces. Is there any way to access the larger versions of some of your older pieces that you've linked to your blog for? When I click the link all I get is a notice that the blog's been marked as private. If not I'm just glad I can see them like this. :-D

Really love your isometric How To tutorials. I have my own style of maps but some of the stuff that I've learned from the tutorials I can absorb into my own techniques. I really would love to see more map making tutorials from you.

I might try and make my own tutorials as well to help people out but I feel like I need to really organize that information first before I decide to make those tutorials.

So please make more tutorials!!

You work on so much with such lovely variation to your projects. You should be so much more well known here than you are, judging by comment count alone. Of course, that alone isn't quite accurate. Anyways. Fine jobs you've been doing!

Your maps are beautiful! Do you have any step-by-step tutorials? Or are there any in particular you recommend? Seems like the only map tutorials I can find anywhere are either for certain aspects of map-making, or by people who aren't exactly skilled. I'd really like to see how an expert like you does it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

torstan In reply to Umbravita [2012-10-31 17:00:06 +0000 UTC]

I've got a large collection of individual tutorials here: [link]

Those cover a wide range of the steps in mapmaking. You can patch them together for the task you want to achieve. I also did a start to finish step by step tutorial here: [link] That should be accessible even if you've never fired up an art program on a computer. Let me know if that helps!

I'm glad to hear they're useful! If you want the high resolution versions, the full size versions of many are on the RPGNow page.

How do you use them? Just for GM reference or are you using something like maptool?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torvus In reply to torstan [2012-09-30 02:03:12 +0000 UTC]

GM reference mostly. I dislike using map generators and I'm no good at making up maps myself, lol.
