And yeah, it was incredible! SHINee was awesome! We had crappy seats, but seeing them in person was so surreal. And they sounded great! We saw so many temples and shrines, and also did a lot of shopping in Tokyo. It was amazing. ^^

I don't really have a particular field of study I want to do yet, so I'm just going to mostly be taking classes that I feel will help me in gaining knowledge that would help my art. So like...instead of taking actual art classes (which require me to follow their art preferences) I'll be taking classes about different cultures and things like that, and hopefully I'll be able to apply some of what I learn into my art in some way ^^)

That sounds like loads of fun! Did you learn some basic Japanese before going, or was there someone there with you that could speak both English and Japanese...? Just curious

That sounds like a good plan! I hope it all goes well for you! Your art is incredible, so I'm happy that's what you'd like to pursue.
And I did teach myself some basic Japanese and how to read (or at least mostly read) katakana. It was a long, difficult process, and I didn't get very good. But yes, luckily, my friend who I was traveling with is close to fluent in Japanese, so she could help me out if I was struggling. X3

That's good, it's always a good idea to know some basics when traveling to a different country ^^ And that's cool your friend is pretty much fluent! I'm still wishing to get that way with Korean xD (I've improved, but still quite limited in what I'm able to talk about using Korean words). Language learning is definitely a challenge.

Yeah, I definitely struggle with learning new languages. I'm close to fluent in Spanish, but that's not terribly exciting. XD I know a little Korean and a little more Japanese, but I'm really not too good... I've only dabbled in French and Greek. I wish I could learn more, but it's so difficult and I never can make myself study... XD What countries have you traveled to? I wish I could do more travel!

That's impressive you're good with Spanish too! That one's useful to know alongside English when living in the U.S.  It's cool you've dabbled into so many languages.

I learned some basic Japanese and could read Hiragana and Katakana when I was younger, but I didn't keep up with the studies and ended up forgetting most of it;; 
I kinda lazy with my Korean studies too eheh, but I'm making sure to at least stick with it this time and keep learning more bit by bit. I definitely don't have enough motivation to try any more languages than this

Ah, to be honest I've actually never traveled out-of-country ^.^ I like seeing new places but not so much the travel aspect, if that makes sense... So it would have to be a place I REALLY want to see for me to be willing to drive/fly/etc there (like Korea- I'd love to meet my relatives there one day, so if I ever traveled out of country it would be to there :> )

What other countries do you have an interest in visiting?

Yeah, I don't know why Spanish has stuck with me so well. But it has. XD It's relatively helpful to know. But that's awesome that you've been studying Korean! I'd love to go to S. Korea, too. 
And oh, I see! After traveling to Japan, I don't feel so keen on traveling out-of-country for a long while... XD I loved the trip, but the preparation and stress is insane. However, I'd love to visit Ireland and some areas in the U.K. I have a lot of Irish background in my family, so I'd love to learn more about the culture.

Yeah safety is definitely an important issue that has to be kept in mind when traveling too (though I guess no matter where you live, there's always a chance of danger even in our own hometowns ).

Ugh, I know. I live in Kalamazoo, MI. We just had a big shooting a few months ago where 6 people were killed only five minutes from my house. I knew two of the people killed. It's horrible... It's so hard to feel safe nowadays.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that...I'm sure it was scary knowing it happened so close by as well :/ Ugh, some people are so cruel and heartless about taking away another's life.
It's impossible to ever be 100% safe, so I guess all we can really do is try and always be aware of our surroundings and hope for the best.. *sigh*

Unfortunately, I will also be working throughout college. XD I work at Barnes and Noble part time. It's very tiring... I work in the Starbucks cafe inside B&N, and people are INSANELY picky about their coffee...

Yeah, it's a nice atmosphere to work, for sure! Books and coffee are great and all, but people are incredibly picky over their coffee. And also, we are a B&N Cafe that sells Starbucks coffee and Starbucks drinks and whatnot, but we are NOT technically a real Starbucks. But most customers don't get that and always try to use their Starbucks gift cards, and we can't take them. I've had customers throw absolute fits. Like... "I'm sorry, I'm just a barista!" X'D

I see...yeah I really dislike it when I see customers throw fits to people like cashiers or baristas over things that cashiers/baristas/etc don't actually have any control over. It's just an unnecessary hassle for everyone when they do that :/ Ah well, I'm glad the atmosphere is nice at least ^^ Books and coffee sounds like a lovely vibe to be in.

Yeah, it's very frustrating. Customers act like I make the rules. Like... bruh. I make the coffee. XD 
But yeah, it's really nice working there. Stressful, but it's a great hangout spot when I'm not on the clock, plus the great employee discounts on coffee and books. XD

Yeah, I'm trying. The shifts are long and grueling, but I get by. There are way worse jobs out there, for sure. XD But yes, 50% Starbucks beverages is a definite plus. Not to mention 20-30% all books.
