I did not have those fancy drawing tools. I have Wacom tablet thingy now but I still use regular mouse to draw because I am lazy to hook that thing on. I am enjoying your cat drawings by the way.

You can save them on your computer and upload them on dA right away. Just like anything, right click and "save image as" I think your cat drawings are developing in certain direction. I am liking them. You should do a series of them.

Yeah it's sad how ignorant some people can be, but I think it's changing. We have a japanese exchange student and everyone tries to help translate for him and talk to him.

I'm not sure really. I've always been interested in Asian culture since I was really little, and my Choir teacher's mom is from Tokyo so she teaches me on the weekends.

It is their loss that not broaden their view. I am glad to know you are helping a Japanese student there. Just remember that he is Not representing the entire Japanese people.
Good luck on your Japanese lessens. These days, you can learn other language quite bit from youtube and DVD/Blu-Ray discs. I will also help you with that if you like. What did you learn this weekend?

　if you are talking about practicing reading and writing katakana,
you might want to say 「両方練習しています。」　means "(I am) practicing both."
I could see the particles and ending can be troublesome.

「私はそれお書き付けるは分からない」　I don't know what you are trying to say here. "I don't know if I write down"?

My teacher focuses more on conversation and vocabulary than the actual building blocks, so I can speak sometimes, but I have to hear someone first.

No problem. It is good that you focus on conversation. The Japanese are opposite. Many of them can read and write but very little listening comprehension. There are many Mormons there as missionaries and they speak decent Japanese. I hear they memorize entire Mormon book in Japanese to master the language.

I wouldn't doubt mormons learning japanese that way. I have a few mormon friends and it seems like religion and learning go hand in hand for them.
