I'm probably going to end up going inactive again idk I'm busy next school year Dx
I just found out about this summer art camp (csssa) and I really want to go for the experience (in art and college life). I found out about it from this person I started following on tumblr who's going on her second year so I asked her things about it and she said I have a very good chance of getting in dfkjhgdjf <3 Really motivated me.
So I'm gonna focus on building up for that (which is 2 illustrations, 1 drawing showing my skill which is probably like life drawing: I can do gestures but I can't shade yet lol, and an animation). I'm gonna ask my art and commercial multimedia teachers for help (hopefully) bc I probably wouldn't be able to handle the demands at my current skill level.
But I'll promise some art in between, and I also have commissions xD
IDK if I get in I'll just be super happy bc it means I'm good enough for animation. I'm still unsure tho, I don't wanna get my hopes up. I could always try after senior year but that'll be the last time.

THO ATM I'M FREAKING OUT BECAUSE I CAN'T SHADE. ANYTHING. DIGITAL OR TRADITIONAL. I don't even color in my current art as is (they're all linless and flat out of personal taste AND BC I CANT FIND A GOOD BRUSH. I tried shading them but it doesn't fit) I want some lineless style tho. It gives me better control of color.
I also can't buy fancy art tools like charcoal and paper, much less paints and markers :/
I can but the store is far away and we don't go there often. And my mom puts more emphasis on my schoolwork than my improvement. She pretty much banned me from using my tablet on weekdays, but when the weekend comes my brother hogs the computer to play games. And not to mention he's allowed to use the computer on weekdays.
We have a laptop but I can't draw on it, but my brother doesn't want it either. And now both computers are slow because he downloaded like 5 programs into the one I use.

I am not ready for work orz. I can't believe I have two months left of school. Time flies hella fast.
But I just have WIPs atm orz. One has a bg but I don't know if it's gonna be lineless or not. Probably not bc lineless works better with cell shading.

I just wish i had something consistent ugh. It's worse digitally. I'm not as used to my tablet as before for some reason??? I rly just lose motivation trying to use it so i feel bad that I can't color anything. My friend can paint so well tho AND HER TABLET BROKE so im kinda sad lol She finally put some draws on her instagram tho. I'm so jealous dlkhgrkls or envious
And oh god yes. For I think 3-4 years? She had some superiority complex or soemthing. She's like the group from Mean Girls-- on purpose because she thought it was "cool."Β And while to me she was decent (IDk about behind my back but I wouldn't be surprised) she basically left me behind as if it was ok. In the end the person who got our group started was left behind :/
Got better friends though, and I actually hang outside of school with them. She also invited everyone except me to her birthday the year she had a party. I left the same school I had with her because it just took me a few months to see who my real friends were.

nah I know what you mean :') But you do have a style tho! Like if I look through your gallery now, I think I could tell that you drew it. but ohh really? Perhaps you haven't been drawing much as of late? Maybe this phase will end tho, it's just an art block from the sounds of it. Perhaps looking at some inspiration will respark your motivation.
Dudee I know those feels. Just yesterday I was going through ieafy's gallery, and admiring everything of hers I rmb when she first came to dA, and she had a distinctive style, but it's so perfect now I'm jelly haha.Β

I envy groups that have complete equality within them. Like there's this other group in my course at uni, and they're soo tight. But every individual is equal, and I just wonder how to be in a group like that?? But it's bugged me a bit less as of late tho XD Worrying about it isn't gonna help me, and sometimes she does include me, which makes me doubt my original thoughts (tho she excludes me again and then the cycle begins again..)

sNORTS I guess there's an art style and there's a style of how you draw (regardless of style) :') I just wish I'd have one to draw characters easier and more consistently (like Britney Myers * o *) BUT I ALSO FORGOT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN IT GETS HOT AND I TRY TO DRAW: I CAN'T DRAW like I'm too uncomfortable to do anything oidhbkfghbkjfs. I wish I get to draw a lot before next year. I'm going to be taking some AP classes and an ROP (maybe).
BUT I GOT A NEW MOTIVATION and hopefully it'll stick so I'm keeping the message from this person I followed because she said I have a very good chance of getting into csssa. Still can't do life drawings well tho xD I can only make quick gestures but they're not even very accurate.
Hopefully ART 1 will help me because apps are in December until February I think.
I hope I get in tho omg. But the animation part gets the most people so it's the most competitive and rigorous ; _ ; It'll give me a LOT of experience tho at a college level (you even stay in dorms but what if I have to crap it's gonna be in a public bathroom SCREAM). And it's at CalArts and anything from there is rly good.
I LOVE IEAFY'S ART. Especially the way she shades hair it looks extra fluffy. I remember her first coming here too, it's been developing well and you can really see it. I wish I can do backgrounds as well and as often as her xD

We all must have followed her out of something like to not get in trouble. I mean the teachers in elementary saw her as the star student of my grade so she got respect for that. And no one's really as mean as her to complain at her face xD I think we got into her queen bee trap bc i have no idea why she became the center of the group. Hive mind probs.
I probably would have never come to her parties but the fact that she didn't even invite me just confirmed my thoughts and predictions about her. I'm sure you'll make some good friends, it just takes time I guess?? Who gets comfortable first and so on. First semester of PE I was a loner, but towards the end we started having awkward small talk and now we just go straight to each other when class starts lol.

AAAAHHH I GOT OUT OF THE STYLE BY ACCIDENT LMAO //bc httyd and their artists weren't anime
So I guess looking for more realism/ semi realism artists is a good start? or professional artists in the animation industry...which is basically me lol. I'm gettinf back to them though.
tdlr drawing from life, gesture drawings, and different inspirations got me out of anime?? It's because when I tried to apply what I learned into my anime style it looked weird/ different. So also don't feel restricted to make a consistent style Bc it will eventually change to be more correct. Lots of stylized drawings and illustrations are modified to look pleasing than accurate so realism is important to understand stuff So it can look ok when you mod them.
