People may block you because your messages have a... on-my-high-horse kind of tone to them? I personally don't mind and I appreciate your feedback on the naming of one of my characters, but it can be difficult for others when they see someone out of the blue go "hey, I understand you may have done this for artistic reasons, but it's wrong".
I promise I'm not trying to be rude, you just stated on your page description that people tend to block you and you're not sure why, and I thought this might help.
A group here on dA that I would highly recommend if you like critiques would be ! You say you do this for a job, so why not try and get some assistance on making yourself even better at it? 'w'

Oh! That description is pretty old. I have come to the realization that some members of the DeviantArt community can be very insecure. However, I have decided that I won't censor myself for the sake of feelings, and continue commenting the way I do. You see, when I make criticisms of people's art or writing, I do it with the intention of education and inspiration. If somebody finds my feedback to be insulting, the reaction they have to that is on them, not me. In order to get people to think critically, you cannot hold back. Sometimes you may even have to risk being a little offensive at times.
I also feel that a lot of people may assume an invisible motive behind what I say, and I won't deny that even I am guilty of these assumptions at times. When I was explaining the context behind your character's name, it was just an attempt to provide some insight for the artist, because I was under the impression that you may or may not know what it meant. I did not post that with the goal of getting you to change the name, or rewrite the entire character. That's what an entitled person would do, and I have no such entitlement for other people's intellectual property.
Thankfully, the majority of people are compassionate. For 5 years I have been on this site, and I have only come across this issue like once per year. I feel that a majority of these people don't even read the things I say, or they completely misunderstand the points I am making.
