The Master's favorite Maid
After what seemed like mere seconds of darkness in the room, everything changed.
Sophie woke with a start in complete confusion. She had no idea where she was, except that she was no longer in the bed of the dank and depressing motel room; But instead was in an enormous bed with rich red and gold blankets piled among large matching pillows sheathed in silk. Along the richly-colored walls hung a few paintings of flowers or far away places Sophie had never seen before. The walls were punctured by a large window with the thick drapes shut tightly.
Sophie stepped out of bed, the oak floor was surprisingly warm beneath her small feet. She was trying to absorb her surroundings down to the finest detail, her dark eyes slowly roaming the room. More curious than frightened.
Up against the wall was a small, short bureau of polished wood, a small lamp upon it emitting a rosy light. It was almost comforting.
