I can't believe more people didn't do ice dodging for this prompt! It's the perfect opportunity for some Water Tribe!Zuko, which I love. I imagine that Sokka dared Zuko to go ice dodging, and called his manliness into question (their bromance almost shines as bright as Zutara) and Zuko agreed. Katara is meant to be laughing, not crying fyi. She thinks it's hilarious that Zuko is so determined, and I think she also appreciates the time he takes to learn her culture and traditions.

And after Zuko passes,or even if he fails, I feel like either way the marks given in Bato of the Water Tribe were given to the boys. Like, the mark of the brave could be for trying, even when you don't know the outcome, the mark of the loyal, for staying with your ship even when you know it's about to crash, and the mark of the true, for admitting that you need help. I would add the mark of the common sense for those who abandon ship lol! (Is it sad I didn't have to look any of that up?) Anyways, the end result is honorary Water Tribe status, which I think would be really special in a Zutara relationship because Katara would become very Fire Nation if she married Zuko.
